Re: Oopsies....@HH
Graham changed parties? I give him props for actually standing up, stating that if you don't want war in the middle east don't vote for me. No, I wouldn't vote for him, for just that reason, but it takes a certain high degree of integrity to do so.
My horse is still in the barn, recovering from the loss of a son.........he'd likely carry the Dem nomination and win the General in a landslide, if he runs.

No doubt he'd carry your parties nomination. However, to close an association w/Obama, to win in a general election.
You need a 'Trump, Fiorina or Carson..to win the general....and y'all don't have one....? Should'a, but don't.
I'm not sayin Joe ain't a nice guy, hell, I like his character better'n Jeb's. Just sayin, folks is tired/fed up of the same-same.
Also sayin, Biden has to run against/from (I'm trying to be kind here) Hillary's malfeasance and Obama's coverup of it.
None of this is your fault and nobody can say no fault, when it's totally at fault. As a result of that, this election is gonna be default, Republican.

Re: Oopsies....@HH
either Trump, Fiorina or Carson would likely lose AT LEAST 40 of 50 states. That is a landslide, and would be a gift to the Dems, who already are poised to make some House and Senate pickups, just due to what seats are up in the Senate. Landslide coat-tails would be especially ugly. No, the Dems don't have a Trump, Fiorina or Carson, because we expect our leadership to have SOME experience in public service before putting them up for President. That the GOP would even consider it is rather hilarious, given the vitriol heaped upon Obama for only serving in the Senate for a few years after two terms in the Illinois legislature. That resume would swamp the three losers you mentioned. Too bad the GOP crew doesn't have the sense to put together a Kasich/Rubio ticket, because that might be competetive, especially against Hillary.

That would be a rather strange ticket. Rubio would get the Tea Party vote (they love him) and the latino vote. But the Tea Party hates Kasich. If the Repubes are going to stand any chance they need Rubio on the ticket to get the ultra right wingers on both sides of the Repube party and the wigged out religious vote. A Rubio/Kasich ticket would divide the Tea Party and effectively create a third Republican party.callmeslick wrote:Too bad the GOP crew doesn't have the sense to put together a Kasich/Rubio ticket, because that might be competetive, especially against Hillary.
With all the Repube votes being diluted within their own parties, they would stand no chance.

Re: Oopsies....@HH
my ticket would reflect the sort of political compromise upon which our entire system of governance rests. Yes, the Tea Baggers would have to accept Kasich, and he'd have to toss in Rubio as a sop to the more conservative wing of the party(Rubio is far more saleable to the general public than most Tea Party candidates ever would be.....Cruz would get hammered in the general election, for instance). The fact that most find the compromise unthinkable speaks volumes about US politics, especially on the right. Contrasting, on the left, most Dems I know feel the ultimate dream ticket is Biden(pretty conventional, very experienced) paired with Warren for VP(more radical, less experienced).

The clear message from Republican Conservatives is 'HELL NO'. It does strike me as funny this comment "my ticket would reflect the sort of political compromise upon which our entire system of governance rests." It's funny to me, cuz, nothing of the sort has occured the last seven years. It's funnier still, cuz, it's all you can 'hope for' and it's the 'change' you don't want, though, will get.

Pud, should you have paid attention, you would note that Obama admin compromised a LOT, from recovery monies, through the watering down of the Healthcare act on and on. I have no issue with how they chose to conduct themselves, and next year you'll get a big referendum on whether the 'conservative'(quotes because there is nothing conservative about doing nothing) approach is what the public wishes to continue.

Re: Oopsies....@HH
what does the little box in the thread icon mean? I took it to describe a thread as dumb as a box of rocks, but any other explanation will do.
