how refreshing

Post by callmeslick »

a group of adults went onto a stage and discussed real issues, real proposals for solutions and changes of direction. Meanwhile as if to help the Dems highlight the intellectual contrast, Mike Huckabee wants to talk about Koreans eating dogs:

right wingers, take note. No matter what the viewership or ratings, the social media says quite clearly that Americans of all political stripes saw clearly the contrast between adults and juveniles. Guess which people tend to choose in the voting booth when the chips are down.

Now, as for my judgements on performance:
1. Clinton--made a fair comeback from a rough start. Anderson Cooper hit her with a nasty first question. Overall, she came off as intelligent, but still can't address that image of flip-flopping and poor judgement on things.
2. Sanders--did well, and showed, with his answers on gun matters, the view of compromise and awareness of cultural differences which make those issues difficult. Showed himself determined to be a uniting leader.....unless you are really rich.
3. Webb--succeeded at bringing a different perspective to the talks, but is painting himself into far too hawkish a position for either the Dems or the nation as a whole. Today, seems to be whining about inadequate face-time,but didn't wow me with what he did with the time he did get.
4. O Malley--got his name into the mix. What progress he made beyond that is dubious.
5. Chafee-- why he thinks he should be running eludes me. Seems a pleasant fellow, for a Rhode Islander......
I note they didn't even invite the other two in the race. I was sort of surprised that the one guy who got a gofundme pile of cash to enter didn't make the field onstage. Maybe he had plans for the evening.

Yes indeed, how refreshing that we will have both houses and the President controlled
by Republicans. We The People will be able to reverse all that piss poor Fascist legislation.

I would vote for Webb but as stated above did not do well last night. IMHO Sanders was the winner with Clinton coming in 2nd. With the GOP in a flaming tail spin I hope Joe throws in his hat because I would rather have him over Sanders!
Now we have demonstrable evidence that if you try to lead from behind, eventually the guys up front will stop looking back for instructions.

well, DH, you are kind of where I'm at.........and, I'll just leave it at that and enjoy the moment! :)

oh, and quite a hoot to hear from you(absolute tailspin, etc) after the other two opiners. Once again, a contrast in maturity and realism is brought forward!

DH, a more wordy version of your view of what has happened to the Republicans. This from a long-time center-right spokesperson.

Ben Bernenke weighs in......when you start losing people like him or David Brooks, you aren't going to be standing as a party too long:

Speaking of Biden....
Methinks, old Joe's strategy is to wait for Hillary to be indicted/charged and he will emerge to 'save the party'.
This way, he avoids conflict/confrontation with her and saves a ton of money. Not to mention, the battering he would endure
from the GOP nominee's, by declaring early. 8-)

Old Pudfark sez: " It's the only logical explain for his reticence and the deliberate slow pace of Hillary's investigation. Some might call it? Biding yer time. "

the value of your guesswork likely wouldn't purchase a decent cup of coffee, Pud.

If Biden is going to run he better get in the game pretty soon.
If he misses another debate it could be too late for him.
