Should illegal aliens be exempt?

If this sounds like a bunch of crap......that's cuz it is....(new sig quote fer Slick) 8-)

Those lazy, no good, mother humpers in Washington...won't enforce the law to keep them mooching s.o.b.'s out of our country....but, they will attempt to pass a law that will require you to prove....who you are...and make you a criminal if ya don't.....That's totally fucked up.

Yes, ALL US citizens should have ID cards, just like everywhere else in the world.

We do have ID cards. It's called a drivers license. We also have a social security card.

Driver licenses are for driving, or do you think you can properly identify yourself with a credit card? ( even dogs can have one)...or what about a library card ( hello mr Juan Perez from Montana), do you use your social security card for proper ID?, I can print one with an imaginary number and call myself John Smith.... A proper ID has to have national coverage, be readily recognizable by anyone, has to be secure, and have your mug shot for verification purposes, hell, Mexicans buy them online from mexico, and use them ( fake mexican driver licenses) as proper ID..go figure.

interesting that this thread got started. I was eating dinner tonight, and Jack Cafferty had a question out on CNN...."Do you think we should have a national work ID card". Now, I think it would be a good way to keep some control over hiring of undocumented workers, yet the overwhelming number of callers objected, on the grounds that they didn't want government controlling them. I was sort of shocked, but it illustrated the difficulties in getting hiring practices under control.

All you need is a national ID which states you SSN, address, picture, digital fingerprint and expiration date, without which, you can not get a job, buy a house, car etc.

It exists in almost every civilized country in the World, but not here.....

Look...a third world country which has people who have never seen a car or a plane has it!...

Because we have a Constitution and a Bill of Rights. We don't need all that shit. You have to give your SS # to get a Driver's license.

If, I am born in this country...birth certificate, to prove it...Why do I need a "national I.D. Card" ? When, in order to get that "National I.D. Card", I have to have a birth certificate to prove who I am.....That, folks, is the conundrum? Why do American citizens have to submit to this? I say, because the friggen Govt. won't enforce the current laws....so, they go at the problem BACKWARDS...and want to require the rightful folks to submit to Identification.....

Some of you, that read here regular...have said in a previous post that you "thought the police had no right to ask an illegal alien for proof of citizenship, in fact they legally could not." If you truly think that is/was a problem? How do you think that will work when the police ask you? an American citizen for proof of citizenship?

This is not a wonderful idea by the Feds....this is a chicken shit way to postpone enforcing the laws...that they have sworn to enforce...and a piss poor attempt at throwing an additional burden on law abiding citizens.....

This is a "Control Issue" foisted upon law abiding citizens....disguised as an attempt to "control" illegal immigration....and if you don't want to believe it? Explain this? Why are so many aprehended? Why so many are not deported? Then, explain why you think this is necessary?

If a national ID is not required, then Why you need a passport to come back? I want you to try to enter the US with just your social security card or your drivers license......hehehe, send me a postcard from a federal detention center, or the other side of the border where you were not allowed to get into the plane.

Birth certificates are just a way to prove that you physically exist in a live form, SSN is a way to prove that you are legally acknowledged to pay taxes, but a national ID will combine both, and will solve the issue of having shady illegal people which can forge their way in, twist the existing law to their benefit, and obtain benefits that are clearly not allowed to them but to legal citizens.

May as well issue the new type of passport ( a card) to every legal citizen..it is the same thing, it proves you are legally and rightfully allowed to work and live here.

Loco...respectfully...that is going at the problem backwards....until a couple of years ago....all that was required for my entry into this country was my drivers license to prove citizenship....9-11 changed all of that....and folks that travel internationally are often required to have a passport by the other countries....and a visa too....

For Example: I don't think that I should require every member of my house hold to have on their person at all times, identification with name/picture and address to prove that they live in my house.....because I choose to leave the doors and windows open at all times......Me and my shit would all be thrown out in the front yard and I would be paying alimony
