I say go for it if you are going to force the Military to put them in combat jobs -> (bad idea!)

Now we have demonstrable evidence that if you try to lead from behind, eventually the guys up front will stop looking back for instructions.

well, DH, let's ignore the idiot fringe response above and try and give a serious answer. So long as men have to register still(not quite sure why, actually), and women are allowed full equality in the military system, I'd say you HAVE to register women.

The why is so if needed the system is in place. ok, makes sense for an emergency. Thus, no reason to exclude women from the process under current rules. In fact, someone is bound to sue over exclusion given our litigeous society.
