last I looked, Canada has more economic irons in the fire than tar-sands oil, Pud. It's probably that 'educated' stuff Fatman cited that gives them the common sense to run a functional economy.

so what? Every economy goes through ups and downs. For instance, I can vouch that their high-end electronics purveyors are raking it in(from me, for one example). Lots of folks in the US snapping up quality audio equipment at VERY good prices right at the moment. Their balance of trade is likely picking up.

Seriously, Pud? Would you like me to put up a post of major companies in the US that are hurting right now?
Wal Mart just said that they are closing 269 stores! WAL MART IS CLOSING 269 STORES! Do you get it?

BTW Pud ... how's the oil business doing down your way? Are you guys still at $110 per barrel? No? I didn't think so.
Are there any wells still pumping down in Tex-ass, or have they all shut down or gone bankrupt?
Have all the "little guys" been gobbled up by the "big boys" yet?

You do understand that oil is a global commodity? ...or do you?
