Now we have demonstrable evidence that if you try to lead from behind, eventually the guys up front will stop looking back for instructions.

Im reading the education and helth care bits i fail to see how changing them could be worse sure its "different" and as for medical issues there are wait lists but when you dont go bankrupt during it thats a huge plus.

They need to be made more efficient and cost lowered yes, but to change them to European models will not be beneficial to America.fatman wrote:Im reading the education and helth care bits i fail to see how changing them could be worse sure its "different" and as for medical issues there are wait lists but when you dont go bankrupt during it thats a huge plus.

Efficient is the key. It doesn't matter what model you use if it isn't streamlined for maximum efficiency.Darkhorse wrote:They need to be made more efficient and cost lowered yes, but to change them to European models will not be beneficial to America.fatman wrote:Im reading the education and helth care bits i fail to see how changing them could be worse sure its "different" and as for medical issues there are wait lists but when you dont go bankrupt during it thats a huge plus.
So what's the fix, DH? If you don't believe the current model is working, and you don't want a European model ... what's the fix?

I believe that our current model can be adjusted and refined to work!Reservoir_Dog wrote:Efficient is the key. I agree. But it's the adjustments that are in question. Which direction will they take? Full blown capitalism ... or a skew toward Social Democracy?Darkhorse wrote:I believe that our current model can be adjusted and refined to work!

why? They have been beneficial to all who have implemented them. Just because David Brooks finds fault isn't exactly a deal-breaker for me.Darkhorse wrote:They need to be made more efficient and cost lowered yes, but to change them to European models will not be beneficial to America.fatman wrote:Im reading the education and helth care bits i fail to see how changing them could be worse sure its "different" and as for medical issues there are wait lists but when you dont go bankrupt during it thats a huge plus.

Re: Why the Burn needs to be extingushed!
the problem is overcoming years of rigging the game in the other direction. Bernie is the only one forceful enough, consistent enough and able to build the coalition(this part is hopeful thinking on my part) to shove the compass needle in the other direction. Until that is done, we aren't going to even encounter any 'fixes' that will do anything other than continue to screw the workers of the US, and ultimately kill off the economy.

he has more successfully passed amendments to bills than any other Congressman during his time in DC. Sometimes, being the conscience of the Senate is, in itself a MASSIVE accomplisment. Our late Senator from DE, Bill Roth, was such a man.Pudfark wrote:You need to slack off the med's Slick. Sanders has never accomplished anything other'n 'leeching'.
