had a great catch-up last night with an old buddy from the Gulf region(Missisippi, NOLA and a place on dry land in Fort Worth), longtime GOP fundraiser, ally of Haley Barbour. He was seriously trying to get me to build a movement to talk Joe Biden into running with Kasich as the running mate on an indie platform for the good of the nation. I damn near died laughing at the idea, but it does show how little interest there is, lurking in the part of the GOP that controls the pursestrings(the Donald will never find the money needed to run an air war from July to November), for either Trump or Cruz. I didn't realize until really recently how unpalateable Cruz even was to these folks. At any rate, the extent to which Trump is going to flame-out will be spectacular, and a beautiful thing to see. As my friend put it, Trump is a gauche, nouveau who one doesn't wish to shake hands with for fear of the stench rubbing off. Strong support from the money men in the party!!
