I just had a look at our largest portfolio and our gains are down ever since Britain decided to go full stupid.

up a hundred grand last month. Haven't gotten this month's yet. What is dragging your portfolio down? Mine is pretty balanced, but I am doing fine with US banks, telecommunications, and US-centered stocks. Damn that Obama!

it's been a good year for the portfolio. Up in 5 of 7 months. Around 12 percent up for the year, with a conservative mix. I don't see much Brexit effect, although the immediate month afterwards was down about 40 grand. It's recovered those losses by now, and then some. America, feck yeah!

I got to thinking, always dangerous, Res: You probably might be seeing the immediate effects. My portfolio is reported by the managers at the end of every month. Looking back, there was a drop of 64K the month Brexit happened, followed by the rebound month, so perhaps you haven't seen the rebound, yet. Overall, I am up a bit over pre-Brexit, but the graph for the year shows a big trough right around the Brexit vote.

oh, and yes, I will gladly buy the seafood, but before you all get really carried away, bear in mind that much of the gains/losses above are still within my late father's estate, so I have a tax bill for this good year coming, as dispersal of estate to me is a cap gain.
