funny side story: the first year when I moved up there to school, I lived with a couple fellows from upstate NH. Could not, for the life of me, understand if the were saying bear or beer sometimes as both words came out sounding like 'be-yah' ......eventually learned that the animal had more of an A sound in there.

"fuckin' 'eh right!" is Newfie slang. But they say it like you're listening to a retard. It's kind of like listening to a Texan talking.
West of Newfie-land we just say "fuckin' eh!" but without the silly accent that sounds like you have 15 marbles in your mouth.

the folks I get it from hanging with were New Hampshire, Maine and New Brunswick natives. No marbles. No R's either, if at the ends of words. Varies with location how long it takes to get the three words out. Canadians and Mainers right quick, New Hampshirites draw it out.





of course, down here in the Brandywine Valley growing up the equivalent expression was, "Good show, indeed!", or, perhaps, "Settlesworth! Get the Car!" and down in VA, "Damn Yankees" served for most every situation.
