Wullie, you mis-read me. I said that your total would not be a very big fraction of MY total. You wouldn't be covering my ass, it would be the other way around. As it already is. And, I have no problem with that, in the interest of a fair society.

Re: this sort of thing....
yeah, in fact, he massively raised Defense, so the overall result was that the budget ROSE under Reagan.Wullie wrote:[President Reagan never cut the budgets of the departments of Defense, Health and Human Services, Justice, or State.
resulting in a deficit, a sizeable one. Also, he pushed Federal spending back onto the States, so the actual benefit for the average citizen was modest at best. Worst of all, he hyped the notion that government, in a land where the government IS the representative of the People, is bad. Reagan was easily the most destructive President of the past century, and I am including all of them in that estimate. History won't be kind to him, I suspect.HE also cut taxes.....

right next door, same thing. Cut State spending, and watch property and other local taxes soar. His approval rating has already been cut in half.Check out what the Governor of New Jersey is doing to pull his state out of the red and back toward the black. He's doing the exact OPPOSITE of what free thinkers and left threaded folks such as yourself think should be done.
Re: this sort of thing....
Slick, take this one personally. You are an " Assuming Pompous Ass " for thinking that...and an Asshole for saying it.callmeslick wrote:Wullie, you mis-read me. Wow Slick, you're my fecking hero. You pay more in taxes than anyone else here even though no one else here has ever stated how much they pay in taxes..............Thank you so much for covering my burden. I don't know how I've done without you for all these years.
Re: this sort of thing....

Wullie has stated his profession, and that he doesn't make a whole load of money. Pud has stated that he is a retired law enforcement officer. I was stating the obvious.ruggbutt wrote:Wow Slick, you're my fecking hero. Re: this sort of thing....
now, Wullie, I want to expand my comments about Christie, before I get mis-read again......
I like the guy. Especially in light of the fact he replaced a complete dick and a half. He's doing exactly what he said he would do when running. I like that. Now, his approach is heavy handed at times and harsh. But, what it's forcing New Jersey residents to do is think about what they really want in the way of services and government. The result, as I stated is going to be a substantial rise in local taxes to pay for stuff that the State is not. Another result is going to be a shitstorm over union and other contracted services. Still, this is the sort of direct attack on a problem that I wish the Obama team had the balls to do. Obama's shortcoming, to date, is that he is too reluctant to ram through the programs he got elected to enact.
That whole issue of forcing the public to sort out what they feel government ought to pay for is critical at the national level. As it stands now, it seems that the public overwhelmingly wishes to continue Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Defense spending unchecked. Add those in with the debt payments and there is virtually no choice but raising taxes to erase the deficit. But, that reckoning has to be done, quickly, or the situation will snowball to the point where nothing will get us out of debt, ever.
One humorous aside: I was watching an interview with some Tea Party members in Wisconsin the other day.
They were, predictably, protesting Obama. When asked what the specific beef was, they stated that he wasn't doing enough to address the oil spill. Huh? The same group that demands less intrusive government and lower taxes, and they're whining about government not doing enough?

I must be, because you're so concerned about what I think and write. By the way, haven't found those quotes of me dissing your use of business incorporation instead of personal income tax, have you?
Re: this sort of thing....
More condescending bullshit?now, Wullie, I want to expand my comments about Christie, before I get mis-read again......
What the fuck is your game? Do you come here to hang out with real men that aren't afraid to get grease under their fingernails are you trying to recruit and show us the error of our ways?
You're so far out in left field that you need sunshine piped in. Personally, I think all you libtards hate the repubtards because they raised the tax rates on the higher income folks and you don't think that's fair.
All I'm trying to is do an honest day's work, raise my family, pay my bills, and try to save a little bit. With all the new contributions I get to make help ease your and everyone else's burdens, I guess I'm gonna have to give up eating steak three times a year. Wake up KOMRADE, you're gonna take it up that ass with all your "friends" new tax policies too.
As for the TEA Party thing? Two things come to mind. First some asshole reporter and his editor chose to air that inane quote rather than one with some real meat. Secondly, remember all the shit and blowback that Little George got over Katrina? That particular brand of bullshit comes with the territory and the mistaken assumption that the POTUS is our LEADER. He was originally intended to be the head janitor of the country. Sometime around Eisenhower the job description got rewritten.
Keep paying out that unemployment Nancy it's really making a BIG difference in the job market. That pinche mollate PREZ's and your job creation program is kicking ass!! 260 NEW jobs per state on average!! GAWD DAYUMM!! GOOD times is a comin'!!!
I can hardly fucking wait.
My 16 year old can't even find a job sacking fucking groceries or working in a feed store!! WHY? Men with families are doing that to try to stay afloat. What does that tell you about our BIG ECONOMIC RECOVERY? That kid, unlike his big brother, wants to work. He wants to fix up his old car and buy fun shit for his girlfriend. It kills him to ask me for gas money or to use my car because he has no gas for his. He's mowed all the lawns he can find and that isn't many and he's gathered up every scrap of aluminum within bicycle range of our house. The kid tries.
Happy Birthday AMERIKA!!
