Re: War with Iran?
Ya know...if anybody else was President....I would say we were "rattling the sword" and fixing to step on their "miniscule male member".....probably more like..."can ya hear me now......boo!"...I'm starting to wonder? Who has more contempt for Obama? Me or them?
Re: War with Iran?
I'm thinking Israel may be gettin ready to pull the trigger and the magic boy, might be planning on keepin' the shipping lanes open. ( maybe )
On the other hand maybe he's gonna take Iran's side if the Israeli's attack.
Hard to tell with that boy.

ah, what the hell. We've got all kinds of money to pay for another war(or pay Israel to do so), and a massive rise in oil prices won't hurt the public all that bad, right?
God, what simplemindedness.

Re: War with Iran?
there is no 3rd us carrier group. the USS Nassau is not a carrier task force, but it is an Amphibious assault group. the article is somewhat missleading

Re: War with Iran?
too bad USA didn't practice open honest relations with Persia, instead of get greedy and let CIA stick Shah in the pocket...probably would have gained far more in the long run, in a very friendly, very western/modern, very stong economically and militarily Iran without the fundamental Islam and other factional forces gaining power as they did in 78

Re: War with Iran?
I thought it was damn friendly of us to sell them all those F-14s for static display...and their return gesture of providing room and board for a few hundred Americans was inspiring...and now, providing nuclear power to the region is just over the top....clean energy, who'd a thunk it....?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jalal_Zandi
Lieutenant General Jalal Zandi was a fighter pilot in the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force, serving for the full duration of the Iran-Iraq War. His record qualifies him as an ace and the most successful pilot of that conflict
His fame came as a F-14 Tomcat pilot. He has been reliably credited with shooting down 9 Iraqi aircraft. He is additionally credited with 3 probable kills, bring his total to 12 air victories. These include 2 MiG-23s, 2 Su-22s, 1 MiG 21 and 3 Mirage F1s. This makes him the most successful F-14 Tomcat pilot ever. Finally, he was shot down once, in February, 1988, when his Tomcat was hit by several R550 Magic and a single Super 530d missiles fired from Iraqi Mirage F-1EQ. He tried to return to base but his remaining engine failed.
Little is known about his personal life. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant General, and died in 2001 in a car accident.
