You want to see change? Maybe, you might wish to focus on an amendment that sharply reduces the cost of running for office and makes third party and independant candidacies practical. That would be a start, but will never happen as long as the stupid keep driving the discussion.......

I agree. I made a post recently to the effect that TV and radio should be outlawed for political campaigning. Why? I believe that uninformed, and uneducated wouldn't bother to vote if they actually had to read or listen to what some politician had to say. They wouldn't walk into a polling place and think to themselves, "gee, this guy/gal looks so cool, I'll have to vote for him/her because they dress neat or he/she looks like me" or any other of a thousand reasons unrelated to the issue.

As for Saratoga? Might be fun to stroll in dressed up and make a showing, but I've no use for that type of society even if I could afford it. I'd rather spend my money off on something tangible.

Why don't some of the "moneyed blue-blood shakers and movers of Saratoga's types" divest themselves of their uniforms and rub elbows with the sons of bitches that keep them going and are their laughing stock? I know, they don't have to nor do they care.

I don't run the bars like I used to, but I guarantee that if you or anyone else strolled into any of the joints where I used to hang out wearing tan slacks and a blue blazer and ordered a gin and tonic, and then started talking down to the folks there as you do here, they wouldn't last long. LOL

well, we can agree on this one. The problem is, it would serious require a tone-down of the moronic stuff about Communists, blacks and liberal-baiting from your side, and a similar reduction in BS rhetoric from the far left to have a prayer. And, at that, it will still take some doing.

easy. Because you all DON'T do squat anymore to keep them going. Unless, you mean as yard care and custodial employees. You see, we've set up an economy where money makes more money, and it doesn't require anyone in this country to go out and make stuff for that to happen. You can invest in Singapore as easily as in the US, and the money rolls right back into the same account.

that's fine, because I, for one, treat folks with respect until they get ignorant with me. And, if the locals wanted to have a problem with my choice of drink, I'm sure I could help settle that, too. Fear isn't a big part of my makeup. Still, the reality is that movements like the Tea Party are just a big, freaking joke to the folks in the know, the folks whose money runs the circus. And, you don't have to still run the bars to know that the 'guns and ammo' bullshit gets mocked, to no small degree, by folks who have utterly nothing to fear from it.

a state school board issues parents (that may otherwise be ignorant of) with information about their children, that in some cases could keep from having a lesser, shortened life; good for them and family of course, but also for gov=everyone...longer more productive life to contribute, and less demand for health services over that same lifespan, win-win
