That is very evident in your posts as one "in the know"..........

I'll do my best to keep that in mind.

I'd prefer that you learn, and become someone who knows how his system of government works. Stop letting other people tell you how and why(me, included). Find a bunch of sources with different points of view, a let your mind open up a bit. The world, and nation isn't some sort of easy, black and white picture. It's tricky, and requires a bit of compromise. Do that, and teach your kids to do that(or grandkids), and you might have a shot at becoming part of the solution rather that yet another sorry-ass part of the problem.

You take a lot for granted in your perceptions of people. I'm having a large time with this. I read widely and from many sources. John and Sarah are a dog and pony show. She has never been a serious consideration of a candidate in my book. I'd rather see Newt Gingrich or Herman Cain step up to the plate and see if the GOP has enough balls to back either of them.

You talk about compromise. Seems to me that there has been way too much compromise in the past away from the core values that made this country great. Now our very future is compromised as I see it.

You talk of your money making money etc etc. That's cool, more power to those that can pull it off. However from my lowly viewpoint ( in your eyes ), I see an eroding dollar and maybe even the demise of the dollar. Then what, Mr Answer Man? How will your soft spoken intellectual chosen one handle that with all his ass sucking sycophants at his heels?

I am very skeptical about my boy's chance at living the "American Dream" as we've known it. I've taught him how think for himself, do for himself, work for his money, and respect his elders. I've taught him a lot of history that our fucked up educational system is re-writing or omitting. I hope to instill the belief in him that his reach should exceed his grasp. I've only been in his life for 7 of his 16 years, but I have made an impression on him.

Slick, you need to take your own advice....before this country compromises itself into obscurity and history, along with you, yours and mine. It is your mindset and values that are the danger to this country. It sure as hell is not mine....more compromises (lying, cheating and stealing) are the shortcuts to disaster...A return to the basic fundamentals of government, as established in the beginning of this country, will be it's only salvation. Smoke and mirrors, 2400 page bills and more bullshit are only hastening our end....and you are the grease.

agreed, I could easily vote for Gingrich vs. a lot of Dems. At least, if the GOP had the stones to run him, we'd have an intelligent man voicing real solutions to serious issues.
You talk about compromise. Seems to me that there has been way too much compromise in the past away from the core values that made this country great. Now our very future is compromised as I see it.
such as? Which values? I'm not disagreeing, but I am sticking by the fact that our nation is governed by a system that elevates compromise. Further, I'd say that the essential nature of the society is FAR different than the sparsely settled, agrarian economy of the original nation. And, change has tried to accomodate that difference, and still retain fairness. It is a fair debate as to what has been lost, and why, however.

I'm on record here(repeatedly) as saying the nation has moved to a position where labor income is devalued and investment income is over-weighted. Should the dollar erode, by the time it does, those with money will be sitting on gold, silver, and whatever currency is most stable.

and, for his sake, I hope you continue to do so, by that description. There, you see, in our different ways, for similar reasons, we fear for those we love. That alone should be bringing Americans together to solve some serious shit, but not so far......

Obama is a typical leftie just like John Kerry and the like. They "remember" something different than the truth. Can it be they've lied to much that they now believe their lies?

anyone who saw the speech knew he was referring to the man who raised him, who would actually have been his maternal grandfather. Not that truth really has much to do with this sort of stupidity, but thanks for showing fresh examples for what I was saying to Wullie.

To Wullie: see the point? You expect this nation to move forward, if this is the level some folks work at?
Lotsa luck! You buy the ammo, and I'll just retire and fish. Fuck em.

I see the point a lot clearer than you do it seems.

If you call what is going on today as moving forward, then I am wholeheartedly against it.

My ammo supply is just fine.

Enjoy fishing.
