I have no 'vote' for Rangel's seat, you moron. He represents Harlem, in New York City. My voting residence is in the state of Pennsylvania.Ethics will cut a deal, like they always do(no matter the party), and anyone who wins the Democratic primary, wins the House seat from Harlem. The concept of 'safe' seats covers about half the House of Representatives. It really isn't a good thing, because the holders of those seats end up with the seniority, and thus, the power in the House.Pudfark wrote:If he is not kicked/voted out of office? You might want to change your vote, Slick. Just to show folks...you are... "a man of his word"....callmeslick wrote: Hell, he might not even lose his seat.
But, that's the way the institution works and always has. Lyndon Johnson had a safe seat in your state, and became powerful in Congress, as did Sam Rayburn before him. Likewise, the senior leadership for the GOP.
