The King James Bible

Post by callmeslick »

I started this thread for Ruggie to expound. I'm tired, and this old man is going to listen to some music and chill before bedtime! Ok, Ruggie, run with it.

actually, no argument involved. Ruggie stated that he'd love to discuss how the development of the KJE Bible affected the development of modern Christianity, and that is sort of an interesting subject.

I could not have said it better myself.
Discussing politics with Callmesick is like having a debate at the special olympics.....

Do you really think it won't be an argument?

First things first, who do we pray to when we pray to our creator or the messiah? God and Jesus? No J in the hebrew language. His name is pronounced Yashua. His father is Yahweh. And here's the problem: The term god is offensive to the creator because man used the term for all sorts of idols. That's a big no-no. When you're praying for forgiveness or help from the creator, shouldn't you ask for him in his name? He told us what his name is. Or his son. If you pray to Jesus who are you praying to? It's not the messiah. Remember in the other thread how I said Satan deceives the earth? How better to deceive than to get mankind to pray to someone else? I've heard all the arguments: "I know who I'm praying to", "He knows who I'm praying to", etc. Sorry folks, it don't work that way.

Say your name is Frank. It's Francisco in spanish but is that your name? If my name was Frank and someone called out to me from across a room and used the spanish name I doubt it would dawn on me I was being called. Same with Yashua. We know his name, at least if you've done a little reading outside of what the KJV translations of the bible are. Or how about praying to God? Yeah, you know who you think you're praying to. So why don't we add a little dyslexia and pray to Dog instead? That wouldn't sit right with most Christians, praying to Dog. It's the same thing, you should use Yahweh's name. It's ok, he told the Hebrews it was his name for a reason.

The Church is the one that changed the creator's and the messiah's names. They wanted to distance themselves from those evil Jews. Well, they're all evil 'cept the king of the Jews (Yashua). See how fuxored something like a name can throw a wrench into things? Seriously, if I decide to drop down on my knees and pray to Shaq with the intent of Yahweh hearing it and paying attention to it, well that doesn't fly. I'm pretty sure that he'd be offended (and pissed off). Besides, Shaq isn't as good as he was 5 years ago.

Discuss.

one in the same
John 10:30-33 wrote:and the Father are one." 31The Jews took up stones again to stone Him. 32Jesus answered them, "I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?" 33The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God,"
John 8:56 wrote:"Your father Abraham rejoiced as he looked forward to my coming. He saw it and was glad." The people said, "You aren't even fifty years old. How can you say you have seen Abraham?" Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I Am!" At that point they picked up stones to throw at him. But Jesus was hidden from them and left the Temple.
the reference to I AM. there are only 2 places in the bible where that is spoken. first on Mt Sanai with Abraham, and second here by Christ
John 12: 44-46 wrote:Jesus shouted to the crowds, "If you trust me, you are trusting not only me, but also God who sent me. For when you see me, you are seeing the one who sent me. I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark."
John 14:6 wrote:Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!" Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied." Jesus replied, "Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don't know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you?"
