SURPRISE SURPRISE!!
Half-truth, lies, a pant load you say?
"It is wonderful to be back in Oregon," Obama said. "Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go. Alaska and Hawaii, I was not allowed to go to even though I really wanted to visit, but my staff would not justify it."

So?

He's your president too.

It doesn't make any difference if you want him or not.

You're looking like an ass to the Yurps.

astounding. He was stating that he had been to the 57 States and US territories, mispoke and the moron fringe goes wild. Here's what I find truly astounding:

As my posted article stated clearly, the US has been steadily falling behind for over a decade in terms of most measures of well-being for it's population. A lot of factors are involved, but chief among them is that we are mired in a politics of rancor and stupidity. The ONE major politician finally comes along, trying to call for an end to it and what happens? One wing of the political spectrum goes into overdrive to savage him. The worst President ever, you say? Hell, at this point in the Bush Presidency, they had managed to gut the budget surplus with a giveaway to the wealthy that cost the average taxpayer hundreds of dollars per year(due to increased state and local levies), and allowed over 3000 Americans to get killed due to inattention to intelligence reports. Further, they had started a poorly planned war with no budget to fund it and were planning possibly the dumbest military intervention in the history of the nation(Iraq). To contrast, you would dump on Obama, who walked into office in the midst of the second-worst financial downturn since the Civil War, with the nation still entangled in the two stupid wars, with international support for the US flagging.
You expected what, exactly, to happen in the first two years? The dude's a President, not a miracle worker.
I don't agree with much of the Democratic leadership in Congress, and see absolutely nothing to support out of the GOP legislators, by and large, but to dump on the ONE PERSON who actually sees a way out of the US becoming a second-rate nation has to be the most shortsighted, stupid position Americans could take. I hope you're proud, and don't fear......I'll be right here, if possible to congratulate you on the further shit you loons want to lead us into.

i have to disagree about the 3000 killed RE intel failure Slick, that could have been a typical clusterfuck by any administration (although the intel community ties to Bush sr, and by extension, to dubya does make it look more severe, IMO)

the partisanship that is clear by certain members here only further bears out your exasperation over stupidity

i have never felt that obama would be any different than most other pres's in past, and he isnt, his recent statement on video saying that the NYC mosque would not be a "good idea" shows his typically polotico nature, saying things that are intended to mollify, or what his advisors tell him most people would like to hear

he's the same as all the other douchebags you guys allow yourselves to be forced to choose between every election

but at least whatever good ideas or things he can or may bring to the table should be looked at, and not dismissed out-of-hand [by imbeciles]

Daii, I'm not attempting to suggest that he is some sort of messiah. Your view is probably about right, but given the situation at hand, I see no other politician that would've handled anything we are facing any better.
Your last statement gets to the key point: merely attacking, and in an ignorant fashion, any leader just further deepens the shit we're in.
