IIRC you can own black powder/cap and ball with a record. That hasn't changed, right?

No Fed check. You can order them online and they come right to your home.

Not sure why, because they can kill you just as easy as a cartridge.

It's not even hard to buy black powder which is classified as an explosive.

Gun laws vary state to state.
Mass gun laws prohibit all Felons from owning
all firearms, black powder and cross bows.

Check your state laws before you get silly.

BTW, a black powder pistol in Mass is a hand gun with the
same definition as any other hand gun.
I know, I used to live there.
