I've been seeing an eye doctor for 25 years. I'm blind in my right eye since 98, and my left eye is screwed uo too.
So, I try to use dries at least #18's
I'm an old fart.

No casting involved, it's your throwing arm that counts, OR a fast boat.callmeslick wrote:Wullie wrote:I miss my explosives......Not very sporting but it is effective and can be exciting.
I would think that casting distance is critical there.....
Re: bearkiller--Tricos
You don't have to clean the fish either. Just scoop them up and throw them in the pan.

It's sort of a cheat, and only sometimes effective, but one can tie(or buy) double flies on size 18s for those wee hatches. In other words, two sets of wings and two tiny bodies on a larger hook. The fish see them often enough and, like I say, it's sometimes effective. Oh, and yes you are(an old fart)!bearkiller wrote:I've been seeing an eye doctor for 25 years. I can also drop a smaller dry off a larger dry, and look for any strikes near the large dry.
To be honest. We don't need small dries in my local waters. Only the tailwaters need them, and I don't go to them that often. When I do i'll use small nymphs. I don't need to see those.
I try to make things easy for me in life. Otherwise i'm not having fun, and i'm all about having fun.

not macular degeneration, is it?

Re: bearkiller--Tricos
No. I have inflamation in my right eye that the doctors can fix. It clogs up the drain in the eye and causes glacoma. My pressure is 73 and normal is around 11. I went blind from that, and now after so many years of the high pressure it's destroying the eye. In the old days they would have remov ed it and given me a glass eye. I forgot the name of what they do now. It begins with an E. It removes the eye and they cut out the bad crap that raises the pressure. It leaves the white of the eye, and then they put in a lens to make it look normal. Sort of like a big contact lens.Daiichidoku wrote:bearkiller wrote:I've been seeing an eye doctor for 25 years. My good eye has a catarac. Since it's my last eye. They're not in a rush to operate on it in case they screw up.
So, I shuffle along as best as I can.
No complaints.
