if that's all you can come up with, you're not left with a very convincing argument. Hell, I took a history class back in 1975 on Modern European History that spent 3 lectures covering the social/historical significance of the Beatles. What you present is a study of the role of zombie films as a metaphor for other trends in society.
Perfectly valid, academically. Obviously, it's not going to be anyone's core curriculum, but it does teach people to look beyond a superficial subject into the deeper meaning. And, for anyone studying literature, film or the like, that is a perfectly plausible course of study. I don't expect you, Ruggie, to grasp what, exactly, a student is supposed to learn, or what skills they are trying to develop at college. But, try and get your head around this....it isn't a trade school, and never should be. A University education ought to focus on teaching people how to think critically.

It's those very same reasons...that you espouse....that have caused our current problems.....
