not a cent. I do receive a subsidy for not developing land bordering Chesapeake Bay, since it protects environmentally sensitive areas. I do get higher rent for farmland because the tenants grow soybeans, which are subsidized. Those are the laws, and there are WAY more generous ones than that, dealing with timber lands and the like. The woman who heads the Tea Party caucus in the House has an annual income of over a million bucks annually, and gets nearly $100,000 in 'agricultural subsidies'. I don't see anywhere near that much from bay protection, higher rent AND timber subsidies, combined.
If it was me, I'd feel like a tool
too easy.......next?

I've never even taken unemployment cuz I believe that there's nothing wrong with a hard days work. Then again I have higher standards set for myself.
see, Ruggie....you're not a tool, you're an idiot. If you had work, you wouldn't be getting unemployment, or need it. Some folks do, however, and it doesn't make them bad. Have I known folks to milk it? Sure, but that doesn't mean I'm in favor of eliminating it. Higher standards? Hell, I'd be shocked to find you to have any standards, based on your writing and whining here.

After reading all of this, I had to remind myself....that Rugg owns his own business and also employs other folks....then, I got to remembering that Slick works in a laboratory counting roach turds in cereal boxes.....and it all made sense......

Thanks Pudfark. Unlike Slick I give a shit about the people that work for me and I feel personally responsible if we have a week that is slow, thus less than 40 hours for them. And you're correct, he doesn't know word one about what it's like for small business owners who are sick of being crucified by the government with more bullshit laws. The Dems in particular make it as hard as possible for me to employ people and to make a living myself. Then again, I'm not beholden to the government for my income and that goes contrary to what the Dems policies are. They want to give more handouts cuz they see that it will get them more votes. Because the Dems really don't have a policy that works.

Slick doesn't get that this country runs because of small business. He has never sat down after a week of doing his normal every day life to see which businesses or services he's used are owned by the small businessman. He's all for free health insurance. Yet his party has fucked over every single small businessman/woman in the country because of that "free" health insurance. As it stands right now, if I pay someone (anyone) more than $600 for labor that is not a full time employee I have to 1099 them at the end of the year. When "free" health insurance kicks in I have to 1099 anyone or any entity where I spend more than $600. Hell, my paint bill was $3800 last month. And that's from 4 different vendors. I just ordered T-Shirts and hats for my guys and dress shirts with my company name on them. Looks like Stowebridge gets a 1099. I'm part of a leads and networking group, we meet every Thursday morning. Looks like I have to 1099 them as well. I bought more than $600 worth of spray equipment from SprayCo. I have to 1099 the guy who put the advertising wrap on my truck. My best friend in the world who does my printing for me, who is so cheap that I feel bad I don't pay him more, 1099.

I could go on and on. I do my own books. My own payroll. And profit margin is down because we're still coming off the situation where illegals have ruined the local economy, I still have to bid jobs and make things work at prices that other businessmen have done or are still doing with illegal labor. 'Cept I have Americans who make more than even the union says prevailing wage is. So what Slick and his liberal cronies can do is suck a fat dick. They continue to make things difficult for the small businessman. Now Pudfark, you may understand all this but Slick in his (alleged) ivory tower (and being Joe Biden's buddy) is better than the rest of us. That's only until the left ruins this country and the people arm themselves and take shit back. Then being Biden's buddy could very well mean a case of lead poisoning.

Let's hope so. Keep a positive note.

It seems like I have unintentionally inflamed your sensitivities...perhaps, removing your earrings, before venturing out to post....would be less abrasive....

Ruggie, I get your concern re: 1099......even the Dems are in favor of re-writing that part of the bill(interesting, the GOP blocked it last week, but I digress). Still, you are putting the blame on the wrong people. In fact, blame assignment is where much of the nation's problem is. The problem is how we, as consumers and citizens have behaved for decades. And, all of us better pull together or the nation is doomed, and you can toss out all the Dems you want, or others can toss out all the Repubs, it isn't going to matter. The problem is the people.....they are intellectually lazy, selfish and unwilling to sacrifice for the good of the future generations, or even for their own retirements. So, it becomes so much easier to blame someone for reality than to really figure out how to fix stuff. In that, you are just part of the majority(pointing fingers), and as such, part of the problem. Your nation thanks you.....

That is true...however, when you factor in the politicians who cater to those ethics...it is double damned true. Obama and his group are a prime example. They and their ilk of both parties must go. They must go now. You and yours have been feeding this for decades....and are continuing to do it. It is good that you recognize this, does that mean you are part of the solution, or are you going to continue to be part of the problem.....I recognize your brief moment of clarity and applaud you for it.

I've been preaching that stuff to progressives for years. Believe it or not, Biden(especially) and Obama get it, completely. Most of Congress(both parties) do not.
