People have no sense of humor.
You got that right in the new dam busters movie nigger has had a name change :o
USA, in general, has been more "sensitive" to racial issues in this vein, than most other nations, including UK, hence the lack of furor over the "nigger" name of Gibson's pooch

recently, a BBC employee was repremanded for "bleeping" "nigger" during a broadcast of "the Dam Busters", a refreshing change of pace from the norm, where one would expect the "corp" to crush the employee for NOT bleeping the term, in the interests of "PC"...good on you, BBC!

Peter Jackson's remake of the Dam Busters (which should be worthy of aviation enthusiasts everywhere) has tackled the issue by remaning Gibson's hound "Nidge"

I think they should have renamed the dog "trigger", personally :P

Yeah, I certainly hope the special effects make up for that talentless hack Jackson's involvement in the film.

Correct, as the union miners wore a red bandanna to show their solidarity with the union's cause. I suppose in the mind of the elite, a bunch of dirty coal miners wearing red bandannas and performing nefarious acts to promote their cause about the niggardly wages they were being paid would make them something to be looked down upon.

It also has an older association than the one slick gave it going back to the 1600's and the Scottish Covenanters.
