Obama certainly hasn't 'lost' Eqypt. Frankly, in this sort of thing about the worst thing the US can do is meddle where they have no clue(again).

"Obama will go down in history as the president who lost Egypt"
That's a pretty bold statement considering that the conflict is not even close to being resolved yet, and is in fact still in it's infancy.
The street revolts in Tunisia and Egypt show that the United States can do very little to save its friends from the wrath of their citizens.
Sooooo....the "citizens" of Tunisia and Egypt aren't Americas "friends"?

I'll agree with....there ain't a damn thing he can do about it..at the moment...it's far to late in the game...
Some times, I really wonder, if our "intelligence assets" have a blind eye or is it the politicians with the deaf ear?
More likely, a combination of both...

Nothing like giving a country/government billions of dollars..and not giving a shit...oh,well...it ain't the first time....
I do believe, that ya don't buy your friends or allies...despicably, our country is known for it....

This particular deal...Obama inherited...from more than his immediate predecessor.....

Old Pudfark sez: " It's like playing musical chairs and Obama ain't got one "

Agreed Obama needs to learn when to STFU.
he might not have won with either side by remaining silent. but he certainly can lose with both sides by speaking up. I think this points directly to his lack of Foreign policy skills. I think for the U.S. overall it's just a good thing the JoJo Biden hasnt opened his mouth yet.

I don't know if history shows that we don't give a shit. More like giving money to 'convenient' friends. Friends willing to do your dirty work, in most instances. Invariably this has backfired in the end. See "Iran" for the textbook case in how to turn a nation full of pro-western, educated Muslims into an adversary.

this deal goes back to the 70's, so I agree fully.

Oh, and what CUDA is babbling about I don't know. Obama has done just fine with the crap hand he is playing, and Biden arguably knows as much about the Middle East as anyone in the government, legislative or executive.
