another good example of what you are up against was seen of late in the building of the new span of the Oakland Bay Bridge. They required purchase of (and thus, manufacture of) a serious length of ultra-high quality steel cable. It was made and sold in China. Yes, California sent engineers to monitor the output and maintain specs, but the work was done entirely by Chinese steelworkers.......who earn $10 per DAY. Now, to use Pud's model, we need to force labor in the US to work at COMPETITIVE wages. How's $10 a day sound?
