what's to enlighten? If you want to believe that all Masonic halls have those symbols, fine. If you wish to associate ancient symbols with Masonry, when they extend much farther back than that, fine? If you wish to believe that Masons are sinister satanists, fine? It's all a load of crap, but I'm never going to convince you of that. As the article I linked shows, this sort of goofy-ass thinking goes far beyond the IRS building. It's more idiot-targeting conspiracy theory, once again the lazy man's way to ascribe blame for his own economic or political shortcomings. It would take me volumes to type and you to read to thoroughly debunk the crap in that original post, so why bother?
Simply put--The columns bear no relation to masonic buildings. The correlation of the striped pattern with the checked pattern of Masonic lodges is, at best, tenuous. The pyramid design is ancient, and the version on the building is completely unrelated to Masonry. The inscription is not one born of Masonry, nor would it strike me as something most Masons buy into. And, on and on.
That the US was founded by a group of men who were largely Freemasons reflects not some sort of sinister long-term plot, but the social tendencies of the Protestant well-to-do of the time. That others, equally influential were not Freemasons seems to get overlooked. Folks like Franklin and Jefferson, notably.
What are you looking for in this article, Nic?

from the original article:
.
In Conclusion
In this edition of Sinister Sites, we looked at a relatively small amount of items that nonetheless conveyed a massive amount of symbolism. Far from being merely decorative, the art in front of the IRS building in Maryland describes in a symbolic matter the true source of power behind the American (and world) government, its spiritual and political philosophy, its perception of the masses and so forth. But while the symbolism is unmistakably Masonic, your local front-porch Freemasons have nothing to do with the occult elite. Those in power are part of the highest, hidden levels of the order – what we like to call the Illuminati.
And others like to call Bullshit. Noted below your article is a section of comments, in which all responses are culled by 'moderators' and clearly, no questioning is allowed. Even the authors cannot tie it clearly to the Masons, but hint at some higher, insider group. Nonsense.
While the IRS doesn’t shy away from collecting money from every single American worker in the United States, the occult symbols in front of its headquarters is not definitely not meant for every single American worker. It is meant to be understood by a very few “select” ones – the same way real power is owned by a very few “select” ones. Why are there symbols associated with secretive and elite groups displayed on buildings that are supposedly public? Isn’t this a contradiction?
my dad(who is a 33rd degree Mason, one of the 'select')read this and laughed. Not only does the IRS NOT collect money from all American workers, the bit about the symbolism is so far off as to be laughable
While some might say that the true, mystical meaning behind these symbols is not inherently evil, the real upsetting part is that those “in the capstone” are clearly telling us that those at the base of the pyramid are not meant to understand these things. They are meant to be distracted and controlled in order to fund the elite while not causing too much damage … and that’s about it. And the IRS is part of the equation.Once again, no facts, just the opinion of the writer, who is likely holed up in his basement with a tinfoil hat and his dick in his palm. Ludicrous to me is that ANY rational person would buy into this. But, then again, some folks believe Glenn Beck.
Contrarily to the “official” meaning of the pointing hand, no citizen has a say on the policies of these institution or even what they display in front of their building. It is rather those in the capstone that dictate what will happening to “We the People” … even if it means making the Bill of Rights disappear. As the official IRS motto goes: Service plus Enforcement equals Compliance. In short, maybe the finger that is pointing upwards should be the middle one.
once again, the writer seems utterly clueless. Does he realize that the Bill of Rights are AMENDMENTS to the Constitution? Read this through and one realizes that it is all the OPINION of the writer, who, as I stated, is likely mentally unstable.]

Have I said this? Nope. But are you suggesting that the pillars & the pyramid are not masonic signs?
If you wish to associate ancient symbols with Masonry, when they extend much farther back than that, fine?
What sort of logic is that? Because those symbols predate freemasonry, masonry can't use them as their symbols? Seriously?
If you wish to believe that Masons are sinister satanists, fine?
Putting words in my mouth to make me look like a lunatic? Good job.

Personal attacks so I'll ignore them...
Simply put--The columns bear no relation to masonic buildings.
And then what are they supposed to represent?
The correlation of the striped pattern with the checked pattern of Masonic lodges is, at best, tenuous.
Agree
The pyramid design is ancient, and the version on the building is completely unrelated to Masonry.
How do you tell a pyramid related to masonry and one that isn't?
The inscription is not one born of Masonry, nor would it strike me as something most Masons buy into. And, on and on.
Maybe most masons wouldn't buy into it. How would I know? With all their secrets and all...

I'm simply wondering how much power occult societies like masonry but there are many others have on the political process in the western world. So I'm digging everywhere.
