the Ft Hood bomber was considered, and considered himself, to be a foot soldier in Al Qaeda of the Arabian Peninsula. His trial will be a springboard for a lot of Islamist claptrap, and likely result in a very severe sentence. The logical, and historically demonstrable, response by Al Qaeda would be to target the US at such a time. Workplace violence, Pud? Hell, that's pretty stupid even by your standards.

Pud was not the one to lable this workplace violence!callmeslick wrote:...Workplace violence, Pud? Hell, that's pretty stupid even by your standards.

Now we have demonstrable evidence that if you try to lead from behind, eventually the guys up front will stop looking back for instructions.

it is still stupid, whether he was repeating the words of others or not. Interesting aside, his bizarre defense might actually lead to him wishing to be considered a soldier for Al-Q, and thus a prisoner of war, who could not be executed.

"his bizarre defense" is your bizarre defense....
Dear Slick,
What happens? When as a soldier, you get caught wearing the enemies uniform?
Sheesh......

In war troops caught wearing the enemy's uniform lose all of their protections under the Geneva Conventions and can legitimately be considered spies and executed.
A soldier in his own uniform must be considered a prisoner of war unless proven that he is a spy, and is entitled to certain rights and protections from the capturing force.
Wrong again Callmesick.

What really makes me giggle?
Is how certain, you make yourself sound...
When?
You're only guessing.
I suppose, based upon this behavior, guessing? This was how you made yer living?
And BTW, I am expecting you to duck out on the link and/or deliberately modifying my question.

I'll cede to your reading of the conventions, as the point wasn't anything deeply felt with me in the first place. It just struck me that he might be aiming for something more than mere propaganda. Strange case, at any rate. Still, I will stand by my original comment about the Al Q threat.....I think it very likely ties into the timing with this case. And, of course, 9/11 is approaching soon, so another milestone ahead. Those nuts are big on milestones.

Actually Slick....nobody gives a shit or giggle about the Ft. Hood shooter, not even Obama.
Certainly not Holder or Napolitano.
Matter of fact, they don't give a "rats ass" about anybody honorably serving their country.
Proof of that? This thread: US closing its embassies in the middle east & north africa?
