These United States were founded by armed rebels at the point of a gun(s).
Conservative they were NOT.
By the standards of today they might seem conservative.
By the standards of 1770 they were armed revolutionarys
and crazys with crazy ideas of a Democraticly elected representative goverment.

And the world is and will be a better place when people's colour or race or creed, is not a factor held against their ability. Wether Obama is a token gesture, or the right man for the job is yet to be seen, but, from a global perspective, it all seems to be working out as usual.

We are too close to the history to judge it.

Oh, don't take me as a racist. I applaud the fact that we have a non white president.
I only wish it could have been someone qualified like Connie Rice or Colin Powell.

Obama's mixed race does not bother me, only his communist/socialist ideas bother me.
