this is sort of off topic, but suffice it to say you know exactly squat about my industry. However, even I would gladly see my employer rolled into a national health service. The savings to the public from us not having to keep feeding dividends to investors, pay a top-heavy executive team around $30 million plus per year and maintain a huge sales infrastructure would drop costs to everyone. That sort of all-encompassing healthcare is what I want, but few politicians have the balls to propose it. I think the corporate donors might have something to do with that lack o'balls.

What is bogus and actually detrimental to the nation as a whole, is this whole pile of 'what he REALLY wants to do'(with no proof or even suggestion from the man's lifework) or 'He wants to take everyone's guns away'(didn't even back several state gun bills in Illinois, but nevermind, it sounds scary, right?). I'm not, lest you or anyone else feel so, making a blanket apology for Obama, nor suggesting that he has been working steadily towards a spot on Mt. Rushmore. On the other hand, I do think he's done pretty well with some shitty stuff. I think he's found that the concept of bipartisan, non-partisan work for the good of the People, is harder to get moving than he first thought. He's given Congress too much say in the whole agenda, and hasn't used his skills as a pursuader to any real advantage thus far. He' s been too cautious.
That said, I'll repeat two assertions I've made all along here:
1. He's done far better than the given alternatives(McCain? Nader? seriously?) to date, on almost every front I can think of.
2. The Senate holds on 104 mid-level executive positions(by anonymous members of the Senate, only one
Senator can hold any appointment from consideration) have hampered much of the small stuff that actually benefits most Americans, no matter which administration is in office. Basic bureaucratic shit that needs to get done is slowed down just because some individuals wish to score political points near-term.
