A Complete Waste of Space

now, returning to topic......how can the nation ever expect to survive the 21st century, if we have folks out there like Barfly who insist that the Founding Fathers intended the whole original outline of government to stay as it was in 1780? Since that point, we have had an Industrial Revolution, been invaded by Britain, fought a Civil War to settle the boundries between Federal and State rights, fought two World Wars, expanded the nation from Ocean to Ocean, gone into Space, witnessed a communications revolution and the formation of a truly Global economy.
It was Jefferson who suggested that an informed and engaged populace was critical to our Representative Republic to survive. Can we wonder aloud if he would be astounded we survive at all when folks don't even grasp the simplest principles of our system?

People aren't thinking straight for this election. I talked to a woman yesterday, and she tried to convince me Obama was a terrorist. Nothing I said to her was going to change her mind. She was going to vote for Romney without knowing anything about him. As long as it wasn't a vote for Obama she didn't care about anything else.

She lives in a government funded building. I told her was was going to lose that program if Romney is elected. She didn't care as long as Obama wasn't elected. I asked her if she could afford to have her rent triple? She said no, but she didn't care.

What's wrong with people today?

Here's a simple principle...There have been 27 amendments to the Constitution.
Four in the last 50 years. The last one in 1992. You want change? Well, that's
the route, you have to go. You seem to forget, that the States have to ratify change.
Which is your boy Obama's convenient forget. Seems to be yours as well. For you to espouse that re-newing Obama's presidency is the "change" is complete B.S. The only way your/Obama's plan will work? Is the complete financial melt down that he has initiated. It has the crystal clear appearance of creating the worst financial crisis in the history of this country. It is hoped (by you/him) that this catastrophe will allow/give excuse, to ignore/skirt the Constitution/Amendments and bring about a "unilateral" change, dictated by one party. Watch what happens then...read a little history, it's the "clue".

Republicans won't be voting for Romney. (let's face it, he's a doorstop that can walk and talk)
Republicans just vote against Obama. The Republicans could have nominated a tennis shoe (the right one, of course) and they would still get the same number of votes.

Won't argue that....Hell, folks in W.Virginia when given a choice to vote for Obama, chose a convict instead.... Probably, cause the folks there knew more about the convict...

The scary part is when he picked Ryan. Maybe I should say the tea party told him to pick Ryan.

That makes the tea party one heart beat away from being president if Romney is elected. Too scary of a thought for me.
