you know damned well, the question wasn't about 'legal' definitions, it is commonly accepted English language definitions. And, there aren't a bunch of them, there is, essentially ONE.

Hayek describes it's common use today as a synonym for "distributive justice"; that fits in with most of the current political dialogue.

You appear to be the only one who "thinks/says" there exists but one definition.
I proved different and ya went off the deep end. Per usual, Slick.
I believe the largest part of your communication issues stem from/relates to
the lack of accountability and responsibility in your life. In short, what you say or try to say? Lacks definition and therefor lacks understanding. You hold yourself out to be better educated than most, I don't see that.
Then again?
It could be deliberate.

Re: Student Debt vs Graduate Jobs
from Barfly's Link--
"All justice is inherently social, since someone on a desert island cannot be either just or unjust. What seems to be implied by adding the word ‘social’ to the concept of justice is that justice is to be established among groups, rather than just individuals.”
from this point on, the author seems to assume that this implies some sort of economic reckoning, and by most people's reckoning, economics levels and fairness within the justice system don't equate. Interesting read, though, Barfly.

From Barfly's link, first sentence in it.
"One of the most bandied about phrases, yet one of the most ill-defined, is “social justice”.
Which I pointed out to you, Slick.
Thanx fer agreeing.

Re: Student Debt vs Graduate Jobs
that's the author's opinion(and yours), but I see the term as very clear cut. So does the author, elsewhere, as I stated. Then he goes on to muddy the definition with his own suppositions, which are backed by nothing.

Good, that's ok.
Then you do agree with me, that there exists no universally
known definition and it could me anything to anybody.
I would civilly suggest that in the future when you choose to
use non-definitive language, you define it right then, to promote
a fuller understanding. Specificity is the friend of communication.
Now, can we move onto the importance of a good credit rating and
seeking a job?

Re: Student Debt vs Graduate Jobs
I knew I'd heard of this Hayek guy before.
I'd bet her husband, Dennis was perturbed to say the least..
Thatcher was possibly the most divisive and disruptive PM the UK has had in the last 50 years, and Hayek is a Hack too. ( The kind that old cow loved to quote and use as a paradigm often ).
He misdefines what was seen as Liberalism in the 50's and the 70's as a way to cover his disdain for progressive socialism and conservatism. Unless you were one of the few that made a lot of money in the 1980's before the bubble burst you should find that hard to disagree with.
Many Economists are still dealing with his impact to this day, where bankers and governments hold his "ideas" as science, when true Economists admit that their "science" is only a best guess and the human factor is extremely difficult to quantify.
But hey, if people read one book and stick to it, because it suits a purpose, let the truth be dammed for the sake of paradigm.
Taken from : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friedrich_HayekThatcher "reached into her briefcase and took out a book. It was Hayek's The Constitution of Liberty. Interrupting our pragmatist, she held the book up for all of us to see. 'This', she said sternly, 'is what we believe', and banged Hayek down on the table"
