"we are actually doing damned well, given 3 economic calamities in 10 years"

"I hope your investments have done as well as mine.....I was able to retire at age 57, and as a further reflection of a robust economy for the edumacated"

Good for you, Slick. So, really, what happened to all the poor and unfortunates in this country? As long as you are doing well and taking full advantage of the financial disarray, to hell with the others?

Do you not see your double standard?

actually, if folks stop spouting gloom and doom, and actually allowed Obama to implement the entire long-term plan, the 'poor unfortunates' would have a very rosy future.

A COLLEGE DEGREE NOW QUALIFIES YOU TO POUR COFFEE

“College graduates should not have to live out their 20s in their childhood bedrooms, staring up at fading Obama posters and wondering when they can move out and get going with life.”

These remarks from Rep. Paul Ryan may be even more true today than they were last August when he delivered them at the Republican National Convention. A new paper suggests these grads’ worries are legit, that skilled workers with degrees are winding up in low-skilled jobs. Even worse, unskilled workers are being forced out of the labor force altogether, The Daily Beast‘s Megan McArdle writes about a new paper from Paul Beaudry, David Green, and Benjamin Sand.

Congrats on yer new consulting gig, Slick.
I'm sure the young unemployed grad who was relying/counting
on that job to pay for his/hers education debt and room&board at his/hers
parents home, understands completely. ;)

sorry, Pud, but no recent grad could qualify for the job I got.....core requirement is 15 years minimum of laboratory experience.

Oopsies on the coffee thingy....
My bad.

"It turns out, I underestimated the value of a college degree when I wrote this morning that one qualifies you to pour coffee. It also qualifies you to be a cashier at McDonald’s."

That'll pay back yer education loans. ;)

Here is some confirmation to whut I been sayin' in this thread..........

Student Loan Rates Boost Government Profit As Debt Damps Economy

BOSTON -- Millions of student borrowers are paying record relative interest rates on their government loans, lining Department of Education coffers and stoking fears that student borrowing costs and debt levels are restraining the shaky economic recovery.

Policy makers, legislators and student advocates have been warning about the economic dangers posed by increasing student debt levels, which at $1.1 trillion exceeds all other consumer debt except for home mortgages. Some have warned that student debt is holding back the economy and risks hurting future credit creation.

Great reader comments on that one Pud. Obama's simple solutions don't look so good if you investigate past the "sound-bite" quality of his policies...
