Well, actually, arguably, one would need to have a complete and total understanding of the universe to be able to reasonably suggest say there is, or there is not a God, a supreme being etc.
How impossible to even IMAGINE we have traveled 200 light years in any direction- and compare all of earths cultures with all of Planet X's (great movie btw) cultures and say..holy CRAP, they have a bible too!1!! Or, AHA! No one on this planet has ever devised a cult based on an unseen deity blah blah.
No more than man who has barely escaped this fucking rock can definitively say there IS a God, can another say there is NOT a God.
I'll argue endlessly with one who would insist we are
infinite creatures- we are finite creatures. The smartest of us has zip knowledge outside our own horrifically short stint on this planet.
I will say that too many have related stories of spirituality that simply I am unable to ignore. Near death, post death, my own experiences, my own joy in listening to my son develop a faith. A faith that no matter what, no matter
WHAT- we're talking zero chance of fail- that he will NOT be alone in time of need.
That somehow, someone some
thing will save him, me and anyone else of importance in his life. If he simply endures long enough.
(the money quote) My biggest piss with atheists, and insistive (fuck you, thats my word) religious zealots is their
own lack of faith in what they believe is true.
Someone, someone you love, or a total stranger walks up to you and says "hahahaha, you're blue, stupid and not of this Earth" .....do you go home shaken by this claim? Do spend hours arguing with this person? Do you suddenly look at the world around you changed? Of course not. Will you spend a moment trying to understand this person and persuade him...maybe you do. Who knows.
I
know there is God, He, and the resulting judgement after this life is the basis on which I have taken oath(s), the basis on how I try to run my life (outside you ignorant cunts,God has told me to torment you endlessly) in my daily trials, trails and tribulations.
I look forward to seeing my parents and lost loved ones- and former enemies as well, knowing that I have a guardian angel keeping watch over my son is comforting and frankly I'm completely ok with it.
