before Pud defines what I think(a comical thought that seems to appeal to him):

There IS a clear cut choice in November. One party clearly intends to dismantle, to varying degrees, the business regulations, labor laws, social safety net and longterm investments which make life better for the vast bulk of the population. The other doesn't feel that way, but, to be honest, cannot seem to get organized enough to get a fucking thing done, even when they have a larger share of power. At the leadership level, Obama seems to be the only soul, from either party, or even from the fringes, that seems to get the concept of long term economic planning, and the slow, steady work of turning the nation more productive. The rest of the hopefuls are either utterly clueless or wedded to a model that will yield a nation of oligarchs within another generation or two.

Not to detract from R_D's extra curricular activities.... ;)

It seems to me? That Obama has "holed" the inflatable sheep...and now wants?
The GOP to blow it up for him.....again....(sorry bout that R_D...just finished read'n yer other thread)

Say what you will Slick....Obomber is a Gonner....even you can't explain away his actions and inactions....
Hell, it's gonna be a hoot watching Obomber...blame the "Tea Party" and Bush....The ugly fact is this?
Obomber had two completely unhindered years to "straighten" this mess out....he did nothing, except run up
the bills.... So, enjoy the "grace period" while the GOP entertains us all....

Maybe next year, Obomber will hook with Jimmy Carter...they can tour together... 8-)

I made the offer of a wager, still stand by it, only DarkHorse put his money where his mouth was. Obama will win re-election,
and it won't even be that close, I suspect. Lots of volunteers on the ground already, a tech-savvy campaign staff, a massive amount of contributions(from over 1 million individuals, to date) and an obvious avoidance by any real candidate in the GOP with gravitas. All signs point to another win for Obama, so don't(to coin a phrase) get all 'wee-wee'd" up, Pud. You're dead wrong.

Well, Slick....if'n you're saying....that Obama can buy the election...cuz, he's got $300 million and therefore is capable...of distracting folks from what he's done and whut he ain't done....and smoke an mirrors will prevail....Hell yeah, you could be correct....But, are you "right"?

If'n you want "Change" in this country? Why do you think it necessary to "Fool" people into it?
Hell, I'll go a step further....and say..."Trap them into it".....?

Why can't your agenda succeed on it's own "honest merits"?

what I'm saying, Pud is that he has the resources to get his side of the story out, and counter the inevitable smears and lies about his record and intentions. That isn't buying anything but a voice. I think the American people are already starting to realize that, given all the facts, the man hasn't done half bad at all. Further, they look at the alternatives offered, and a lot of middle class independents are starting to realize that they can do FAR worse than Obama. Look at where the GOP is headed, Pud: Mitt Freaking Romney. I think Bill Maher summed it up best.....if his campaign staff determined that a black woman had the best chance of winning the Presidency, Mitt would have a sex change and go to court to legally change his name to Lakeesha. Not much in the way a consistency or character about that man. Personally, I can think of a half-dozen prominent Republicans who could actually represent the party far more favorably, even if I don't agree with their worldview. It just seems none of them wished to run for some reason....

I agree with the Romney thingy.... :)
However? Four more years of Obama? Will be a repeat of the last two years....
And nobody can afford that.... :(

I saw Obama on the tv earlier today and again....he was talking about the "change" thing....What,
I wondered? Why doesn't he define it? "Change" to what?
Until he gives a precise definition to the above?

If'n you want "Change" in this country? Why do you think it necessary to "Fool" people into it?
Hell, I'll go a step further....and say..."Trap them into it".....?

Why can't your agenda succeed on it's own "honest merits"?

Slick....I don't believe you can answer that. Why?
Because, Obama won't.
So, it seems to be full circle back to the blue word thingy...Ya know, with the same understanding, that you give Obama........ ;)

it would be just swell to allow Obama to actually implement his agenda without appointments being held up(10 times the number of blockages as for GWB), without needed legislation being tabled or saddled with poison-pill amendments or without lies and smears from the Obama hating right wingnuts. As it is, he can stand proudly by what he has managed to accomplish. Don't want to see a repeat of the last year or so, Pud? Vote the GOP out of existence. By focusing on the failure of the President by any means they can acheive it, they have done the entire nation a disfavor. That isn't legislation, the way they do it, it's simple resistance.

Geez, Slick, what you wrote has some serious socialistic over tones.... :(

Could ya list Obama's proud accomplishments for us "rubes" ?

Old Pudfark sez: " Now, who was it who said...."resistance is futile"?

Pudfark sez: " It was the Borg, first...and Slick apparently, second.. "

Old Pudfark sez: " "

and you have just illustrated what I, and a few others, have long suspected.....you don't have the first clue what socialism is or what the word means. At no point, above, did I mention economics.

sure, Rube...... :P
in rough chronological order:
1.kept nation from panic during a financial crisis so dire that lots of financial types I correspond with still shudder at how close
we were to full-on frozen liquidity(ie-you could have walked up to an ATM and not gotten money, for example)
2.avoided loss of 2 million jobs directly and indirectly linked to US automotive industry, which would have triggered a Depression,
as opposed to the severe recession we were heading into.
3.achieved some(but not ALL) goals around healthcare insecurity for millions of Americans. No help from GOP on this, so settled on
at best a partial solution.
4. pushed for needed reforms of banking and securities industries.....thus far, severely hampered by blocked appointments and other
delay tactics from the GOP.
5. killed Bin Laden
6. fostered better relations with NATO partners and reached out to marginalized groups in the Arab world. In essence, worked hard
to un-do damage engendered by GWB and the neo-cons.
7. overthrow of Gaddafi
8. kept to Bush timetable and actually got all US troops out of Iraq.

not bad for a guy with one hand tied behind back by blind, hating opposition.

I hope yer not serious about what you wrote....

"not bad for a guy with one hand tied behind back by blind, hating opposition." You do realize, what you're calling more than half the citizens in this country?

You sound pretty stressed Slick...I do hope that all is well with you and yours.
