Well...I've been having some second thoughts on that...
I'm..long term, hard thinking about the discontinued Ruger?
I'm probably, reluctantly, gonna attend one of the Houston Gun Shows...
to get one. Sigh.......

Plus, from what I've read...not that I'm truly interested.
They does have a conversion unit for it...I believe.

Why not just buy the gun converted from the factory? They replicate all the models from those days. I thought you wanted a cap & ball?
I think the guns got ugly when they converted them to cartridge.

I'd agree...it makes them uglier.
I'm still gonna hold out for a reasonable Ruger.
Though...I would go for an 1860 at a "give away" price..

You won't find a used Ruger as cheap as a new Colt.

The Ruger because...I could, if needed, use something other'n BP.
The belief behind this...it has every outward appearance of being
stronger/sturdier.
