pretty much the premise, and how it works everywhere. Most people get access to every basic service they'll ever need, and most any critical care. Those that want less messing with making appointments, or to choose 'concierge' level care, pay for the privilige.
What's interesting to me...and you see it as well, seemingly.... The Fed Gov is gonna put the health care insurance companies out of business....and most likely, gonna bankrupt them first. Are you really ok with that?
no, I'm now convinced that won't happen....further, I explained why above.
Is this course of action the "American Way"?
yup, our nation was designed to,over time, do everything to best provide for the well-being of the citizenry, so this fits right in.

After (both of us) watching/enduring the ObamaCare rollout....and it's disastrous implementation, how long do you want to wait, without health care insurance.....for them to experiment with a single payer plan and it's implementation?
hell, that rollout would be SO comparatively simple. You already have the Medicare infrastructure and paperwork. Simply add every single social security ID to the database, send out the cards and let the insurers(who will still be very much in business) sell the supplemental plans. Done.
Hell, I've got another dozen or two questions to ask....this is enough for the moment.
I can't wait to be able to show you how the above single payer plan would cost virtually every American currently paying for health insurance LESS money, by about 30%, and free employers from the uncertainty around insurance plan costs. It would also free American workers from the fear of losing insurance coverage around employment status.
