Re: business as usual....
you are exactly right about the economics. As for the repatriation scheme, I'm not really sure you're correct, but the net result was that, due to a heavy-handed government, more people had freedoms. That, and only that, was the point of my example, since Pud wished to see an example.
Re: business as usual....
It couldn't go any other way. If only one slave had his freedom that would be "more". Correct? But if you compare to what happened even after the Civil War to what our forefathers intended you see a huge disparity in "freeedoms". And it's gone downhill ever since.callmeslick wrote:more people had freedoms.

You make a lot of assumptions and judgements Fuddy pants. I wonder if you even know what you are typing there from the retirement home you live in. You kinda come across as the type of guy who would fit in well with just about any reactionary right wing elders group in any dictatoship past or present. I'm really hoping that when the meds wear off you might gain some sort of lucidity and learn how to change your own underwear by yourself.Pudfark wrote:Hmmm, lets see, Soapy takes no responsibility for his own transportation or financial security...I got that. Soapy relies on others for it...I got that. I know why the Irish think they are "free"......I get that too....Soapy wrote:Hmm, I don't own a Cessna, or a car for that matter, nor shares or options in any company either.
I can only assume that you wanted to use illiteration in your example, rather than logic?
Old Pudfark sez: " I wouldn't walk no mile fer no free tater, then agin, I ain't Irish "
Old Pudfark futher sez: " How's that be fer Logical Illiteration "
I will forgive you for thinking that I am some sort of Irish Rebel, it is an easy mistake to make if you are wearing the wrong spectacles and have a few screws loose.
But then again you do seem to have an anti Irish bent, did one of my relatives piss in your cornflakes somewhere along the line? And, have you not been able to get over it since?
I don't rely on others, I work for my money, and while doing that I also don't create crap for others. Not owning a light plane, well that has never been an issue for me. Car wise. Don't need one either, I live and work in the same city, and walk to my office every day.
I'm gonna agree to disagree with you on just about everything you write, it is uninformed, reactionary bullshit that luckily, will not taint the friendships I have with more rational people who come from Texas. I think that you are unique in that you have annoyed me so much, I might even consider naming my next shit after you

So I'm off to do a huge Pudfark, and will cheer as it splashes into the toilet
