I know, his statement was so off I wasn't going to mention it..imagine if I said Obama were a real democrat?

Sure glad ya didn't Dawg... ;)...it mighta pissed Slick off...

In an abstract way, it is amusing to watch Obama give the "real dem's" a ice water enema and then, listen to them extol his virtues.....it leads me to believe, that Slick is not a real Dem and is in fact, a progressive socialist, emerging from the closet.

I read this in an email earlier...an old lady was holding up a sign at a rally and it said: " Would somebody please give Obama a blow job....so, we can impeach him "...she coulda been a dem.

Old Pudfark sez: " A scared Dem...is a more honest Dem... "

wrong, Pud. I am actually a progressive-leaning pragmatic, who would like to see actual government.
Don't know or care if this tidbit interests you, but I turned down repeated pleas from two PA Dem heavies
to run for State Committee. I think something is coming that will put both the GOP and Dems in their places.
If it materializes, I plan to not only work like the devil for it, but raise and spend considerable cash making it a reality. Right now, there are but whispers, political foreplay, but it involves some serious political players fed up with both parties and what they have become. Time will tell.

Fer all you interested types out there who might need a translation of the above quote....this is whut he means.....
" I am actually a socialist/communist-leaning pragmatic, who would like to see actual government "

This also is indicative of his positive beliefs in...Marx...Lenin...Stalin...Hitler...Mao...Castro...Chavez...who are also noted progressive-leaning pragmatics.....who created actual governments....and killed millions of their own people....No/Know wonder, health care is such an important issue....they really want to save folks....this time?

Old Pudfark sez: " I am actually a conservative-leaning pragmatic, who would like to see honest, accountable government. "

I could fax you the petitions, ruggie, if you actually care.....along with a reprint of my somewhat blunt
reply to the requests.

Pud--I'd like to believe your self-description. Your view of my political leanings are way off, but the type of people who I see leading the nation out of the current mess are a mix of pragmatic progressives, and pragmatic conservatives, putting aside the hot-button bullshit for a few years to get the fiscal house in order, return to responsible, less-corrupted governance, less corporate influence and peeling away decades of political entitlement. It may actually be possible, IMHO, to have a government that is responsive to the common good, efficient enough in spending and maintains it's national strength if such people can find a way to work together. All it would take is about 10-15% of Congress to represent neither the Dems or the GOP,
and suddenly, it's a whole new ballgame........just a thought.

Slick...try this on for size?

Progressive = Socialist/Communist, folks who want more government for more people and less people in the more government... Progressive Example: Global Warming, Carbon "foot print"...what leaves foot prints? People...How do you eliminate foot prints?...less people = less Global Warming....In the meantime, steal as much of their money as you can with ideas like...windmills, solar panels and Government Health Care...all in the name of "wealth redistribution" and taking, only from those.....that can afford it....If, you get your way? The fellow now making minimum wage will seem like a wealthy and "free" person.....compared to the person of fifty years in the future......if, there is one.

When folks can't discuss things in a meaningful manner...they either walk away, roll over...or..fight....I'm glad we have a place like this to discuss such content....things like "talk to the hand", "ignore", "Progressive" and "Nuclear option" are provocative and promote a potential breach of the peace.... This fall a bunch of Dem's are going to be gone...the shame of it is....a bunch of Repubs...should be going with them....Hopefully, this will keep the peace awhile longer.

I'd much rather argue with you, than fight you*...that is your choice? Progressive or not.

* No personal threat meant/intended towards your person.

Old Pudfark sez: " Progressively speak'n...I'd rather be dead...than red "

Let's not forget it's ok to have a bigger carbon footprint if you buy "carbon credits". Basically you can harm the environment all you like as long as you give the lefties cash to do it.

but where does said monies end up? does it all go to environmental agency, or a fund directly related to the issue?
