ah, Pudfark, I am not about to deny that I was raised within the very elite that I'm decrying above. I've spent the bulk of my adult life trying to warn those I grew up and went to school with of idly sitting back and letting things go too far to shit. My personal fear, expressed in such conversations, centers on the historical fact that when societies separate completely into 'haves' and 'have-nots', eventually, a revolution occurs or an oligarchy develops(I wish to see neither). I am in no way being a hypocrite, and will be the first to state that me, and my entire family, have benefitted mightily from the status quo. Hell, I made a boatload of money off this recent recession, my grandmother and great-grandfather literally tripled the family fortune thanks to the Great Depression, and so on. I've posted what I have here because I still have faith in the American system of Government, but I despair that the people(in general) have lost any faith in it's power. There are many examples of the people demanding some restraint upon the elites, yet, over the past 30 years, we've all stood by and watched the bottom 90% of the population sink, economically, while the top end moves further into the stratosphere.
What would you have me do, say "fuck the rubes, they had it coming", retire to the family estate and spend the rest of my life fishing and enriching myself(by doing very little work...the system provides very well)? You might disagree with my assessment, or my proposed solutions, but damn, Sparky, don't be calling me a hypocrite! In between making an Internet ass of yourself(pointed out by Daii, nicely), you might wish to think about what I pointed out. I note that at no point do you seem to contest the facts, you just jump in and try
(failing miserably) to attack the messenger.

another couple comments. At no time have I ever taken undue advantage of the system. In fact, I tend not to take every little tax break and loophole. I play by the basic rules as they are written, and plan to continue to do so. Don't you? The fact that I get paid not to grow crops, or get supplemental income for renting for other specific agricultural usage is simply the way the rule book is written. The fact that I pay 15% on much of my income, while some working stiff pays 25-plus percent is the way the rules were changed in 2002(note:
change was NOT pushed through by Democrats, nor is there one shred of evidence that it benefitted anyone except the recipients). You, the People, via your elected officials, and sheeplike compliance have granted me this largesse. And, thanks to divisive twits like you and HappyMoron, coupling with loons like Nader and Kucinich on the other side, will nearly guarantee that those generous checks will continue to roll in. God Bless America!!
Second, nice to see you found the Font Color control panel. Now, if you would only look at reality.....

I chose the "red" font for you Slick....and your explanation, is my justification and application of the word hypocrite in regard to you and yours. It really is silly listening to the "fatcats" as they drown out the poor and "oppressed" and in particular, when they own the vast majority of the media. Slick, it pretty much boils down to this...You are only interested in giving away my money and not yours. By the way, I am retired and living on a fixed income and certainly not financially equal to you and yours......and yet I don't preach about it....Why do you and what is your agenda? Certainly, if it is not money? It is the perceived power.

and, the media stokes the fires of divisiveness. Hmmmm, I wonder if there is a reason why? Naaaaaah......
Slick, it pretty much boils down to this...You are only interested in giving away my money and not yours.
wrong. Under any plan I've ever supported or proposed, I dare say you wouldn't pay but a small fraction of my burden, measure either by total or percentage of your total.
By the way, I am retired and living on a fixed income and certainly not financially equal to you and yours......
you see, I think differently about that. Your income, my income don't matter. This is America, and thus, as citzens, you and I are equal(or, at least, should be close to it in most important regards).
what is your agenda? Certainly, if it is not money? It is the perceived power.
my 'agenda', such as it is, consists of trying to get back to a nation where folks of different opinions treat one another with the respect accorded to a fellow citizen. The divisive rhetoric that has become routine is KILLING the United States. It's that simple. I don't wish to see that process continue to what starts to look like a logical end point.
Old Pudfark sez: " You and Barney Frank have brought fly fishing to a new level "
and Old Slick replies: "There's no fool like an old fool."
Pud, my quote in the sig, from Evan Bayh, is the essence of my 'agenda'. We, as a nation are at a point where people better learn to pull together and lose the ideology, or we're all fucked to greater and lesser extents......

This devisive rhetoric has occured after "talking to the hand" for the last 18 months, while the other hand is robbing the piggy bank. Most folks sorta get tired of that and end up raising their voice....and if that don't work? The "hand" ends up holding the head.....So, if ya don't wish to see that process continue? Vote somebody in with ears, that uses them.

It's all about power folks.
It's all about the feeling that the people need to be guided by youre thoughts.
Those whom fail to follow youre lead are irrational and need further re-education.

We the people are driving those assenholters out of power

Doesn't matter who that was implemented by. It's welfare plain and simple. I have less of an opinion now of you than I did before. But not because you're on the dole. Because you're one of the assholes here who lambasted me for taking advantage of lawful deductions cuz I run my own business. You're a hypocrite of supreme proportions Slick.

Ruggster, youre a pretty bright fellow and you are just now figuring that out?
I hate to inform you but it is the fact that you are a business man that makes you
Callmesick's target. In his dictatorship of the proletariat the welfare state / workers paradise
is built on the back of businesses that are taxed to death.
You are in his crosshairs bud. ;)
Callmesick is just another Pelosiite.

We the people must drive him and his Commie cronies out of power.
