Nic had no answer, and ran away.
Must be a French thing.

Truth be known Slick summed it up really well.
The God myth is full of holes while Evolution
has hard science backing it up.
The world wide strata you describe is rather factual but it was laid
down in a longer period than 40 days and 40 nights.
Millions of years of sediment were required and then those
mountains were pushed up from the sea floor by the collisions
of continents. The sea never got more than 40 feet or so above
where it is today.
But the black Sea did in face have a catastrophic flood 7000+ years ago.
Before that it was a shallow fresh water lake.
Proof of the growing mountains is also strong as the youngest mountains
are still growing today and the oldest are shrinking.
Bummer some members of the God squad has to resort to name calling and insult.
But the smarter believers are posting their arguments and that is
what I wanted this thread to support.
By the way DarkHorse, that was the kind of post we need.
But i will note that the Sauk Sequence has been dated to
a little over to under 1,000,000,000 years old. I think that
is a little old to be Biblical.
Same problem for the Tippecanoe Sequence at about 420,000,000 years old.

Are you serious?
If I'm not believing in god then I must believe in something else? Has it ever occurred to you that some people don't need to believe in the sense that you believe?
Tell me why I should believe in something at all in the first place.

Of course HH never resorts to name calling or insults.
What a hypocrite.

callmeslick wrote:so, your point is what, exactly?
That at the time of Noah GOD could only find 8 people worthy enough to save and his next and final judgement it will only be about 1% of the worlds population.

Where do you think you came from? There's only one right answer. If you don't believe in God or evolution. You must believe in something else? Life doesn't just appear out of nothing.

callmeslick wrote:finally, and this is my last word on a thread that went stupid real fast(no surprise). The article reprinted by Darkhorse is the biggest load of crap, and anyone claiming to be a mathematician should understand the error in the calculus. The bottom line is that vast numbers of statistical analyses show that the formation of life, in the type of chemical soup and environmental conditions upon which that particular Origin Theory rests, would be highly likely given the massive number of opportunities. In other words, a chance on the order of 1 in a trillion is easy to accept if you realize that one million events occur every second. Think about it. Oh, and that bit about sandstone and floods. Have any data on the age of that sandstone layer? Millions of years old, in the deepest layers, on the order of many tens of thousands in the Grand Canyon's exposed layers.
First of all I would listen to a noted Engineer / Mathematician / Researcher / Author / Member of the New York Academy of Sciences / Officer of the Archaeological Institute of America (N. Shore Society) about science related topics before I would listen to a pompous low level chemist. Jumping in to this debate with "went stupid real fast(no surprise)" reinforces the pompous claim above. I hope you conduct your self in life better than you do here!
Slick your sitting deep in the same box as Happy. What is it about GOD that brings out so much hostilely in you guys?

DarkHorse, what hostility?
I am dealing with facts and facts alone.
Cuda and BUZZ are on ignore because of their hostility
and infantile behavior.
"First of all I would listen to a noted Engineer / Mathematician.... "
That post is so full of gaping holes that I have my doubts
as to the man's agenda more than his education.
If only 8 humans spawned all the worlds human population
there is more proof of evolution in that story. Look at the diversity in only 7600 years!
Amazing really. But the only truth in the story is that likely
a major percentage of people living in the Black Sea area died in that flood.
I bet their whole world flooded those fateful days when the
Mediterranean sea water flooded in.

And I can say the same about the people producing your "facts", so where does that leave us? Showing light on truth is an agenda I can live with. Happy what do you think is being gained by creationists?
