When the fatties leaned out some from living a natural lifestyle... they'd get some.. well needed attention.

You might be right if I willed on the people what we have now.

Interesting Buzz.....
2000 years ago, up until say? 50 years ago? Who "willed" it on folks?
Oh, snap, the people did. Now, a few, "near do-wells", wanna change it for the rest.
Ignoring the "history" and the other folk's rights. Have you ever heard this saying:
"Two wrongs don't make a right"....the same as...."two lefts won't either".
However, three lefts will...

“Somehow,” Chu said, “we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.”
this is your definiton of 'skyrocket'? You all really aren't going to like the future.
Now, as to the green energy thing, Pud has a least a couple memory cells working. I have 2-3 acres that really isn't efficiently placed to farm, yet would make a nice small solar farm. My problem(and I thought I had gone over this here) is that I cannot find, at the present time, any domestic panel sources that are reasonably priced. Most of the solar intallation contractors, if not all, use Chinese panels, so I am waiting until the Feds subsidize the industry and/or levy tariffs on the Chinese to level the playing field. You see, the tech is all US-developed, but the Chinese government is pouring over 2 billion bucks per year to keep prices surpressed. The only US suppliers I could manage to locate with prices close to feasable were on such shaky financial footing as to be a risk for long term warranty support. On the subject Pud raised about insurance costs, it turns out weather-related insurance would be dirt cheap in that region, so I could(using Chinese panels) be making a profit within a very few years, it just doesn't fit my sense of civic duty, and in the meantime I am getting $200/acre to have it planted in soybeans.

Obama said skyrocket, with regards to his plans for cap and trade, which has been functionally replaced with using regulations to the same end - restricting fossil fuel use. Chu is just a like minded global warming policy advocate, cap and trade type. And as predicted, you didn't invest in "green" energy, it's not viable.

I never said anything about insurance on solar panels Slick.
I did say something about a bucket and a squeegee.
Not to worry about American "panels"....Obama fix'n to make the same mistake,
Solyndra, with another "start up" solar panel venture. The main problem for you?
These "new" panels are less efficient than the chink panels. Still need the squeegee thingy though....which, still tickles me. Don't forget your "duster" and ice scraper...that tickles too.

Note to all: The above quote is taken somewhat out of context.
However, it's indicative of how Slick likes to get over on the system.
I really do object to Slick jamming his hand into my/our pockets to finance his
Science Project Experiment. Below, is the whole quote:

you are aware that my property is as far South as Richmond, right. And, surrounded by salt water, right? Not much by way of dusters or ice scrapers needed most years, and insurance comes into play to insure that I keep the value of my hardware investment intact. Just good business.
good of you Pud to conveniently leave out the rest of my sentence, where I stated '...or levy tariffs on the Chinese, to level the playing field'. Fair pricing was my aim, nothing more. Typical of right-wing extremists, you simply lie to make a point that isn't there to make, really.
