Once in a while, it might be nice to let the Islamists take over, try and run things, and get sent packing by the locals, instead of foreign intervention. Sure, I know that could be applied to Afghanistan and one could say, 'look what happened'. But, most of that was due to our being inattentive and a certain administration ignoring imminent warnings of attacks on the US. I'm not suggesting completely ignoring these regimes, but the West stepping in just reinforces the stereotype that the West is declaring war on Islam. Let Islamists try the whole ruling thing and see how it goes.....
on what? on who, exactly? How should such a war be conducted, and who pays for it? Unless such a movement is halted, by other Muslims, or at least indiginous people, our meddling does nothing but spread the cancer, to use your analogy. Slick I will admit to you that I do not have the answers. I was the sharp end of the scalpel used to cut, not the surgeon. I could tell you what I think should happen but I know it is just a pipe dream. I do not have much faith in mankind as it has become a self serving beast destroying it's self from within.
