WOW

I'm guessing that things like the American revolution, the War of 1812, the Civil war, the assasination of Lincoln, the Spanish American war and WW1, were just Gang violence issues
Oh here we go another Yank who thinks the world revolves around them

Texas public education= Liberal? Ok, now sit down and read the instructions on those meds, Pud.

Read the instructions on the "Shineola", Slick.....I didn't say Texas, I said "liberals"....and that would mean "liberal" illiterates, like yourself.

You're right about that HH, it oughta to end tomorrow...and this particular thread, hopefully will. We all have much more to do in this organized effort of retaking our country and restoring our principles, honor and integrity. We must rebuild the "foundation" of our country. We must enforce the law. We must never forget what almost happened.....We must find a way to forgive.

I'll laugh my ass off if that vacuous, bubble-headed, nincompoop O'Donnell wins in Delaware!
Hey, here's some food for thought. I was watching a round table discussion on CNN this weekend and a political science professor from Georgetown U made this statement.
"It doesn't matter who wins in November. Whoever wins...America loses. The political environment in this nation is in free fall. Across the board, all parties concerned. The polarized state of our nation has become a cancer."

While that's true as hell, I'm also a firm believer that if we have one party in the Presidency and the other in Congress it's better for the people. Cuz there is so much in-fighting that they won't be able to fuck us over.

There is a massive group of the electorate that agrees with Rugg's viewpoint. I can't really disagree. What you're looking at is two years of gridlock, up to the next election. The only problem with that is that I'm concerned that this isn't a moment, in history or world economics, for us to be dithering any longer. As I see it, we've had dithering for close to 30 years, and that's what got us into the current status quo.

me, as well....in fact, the campaign against her is the only campaign I've supported and worked for. In fact, I'll be in Delaware tomorrow night, and since(with any luck) that might see the end of this thread, I'll leave my post election thoughts, based upon my current guesstimate, which is:
Dems lose 55-60 House seats, 7 or 8 Senate seats, 8 Governorships
(so, just consider the below written on Weds morning)
With that in mind, and noting Pud's remarks above, which are very well taken, I'll say something akin to what I said in 2008, after two straight Dem whoopasses: Now, show us how you can govern. I said that about the Dems, and frankly, they haven't, as well as they could have. They weren't focused enough, bold enough or savvy enough to develop a message, or a brand. They let the GOP stymie them and then define them. Ultimately, they did pass a lot of shit, but it was a set of half-measures, which the public let them know were not sufficient. The public is divided, and both parties are now far more ideological than 85% of the voters. What that vast middle wants to see is focus, honesty and a group willing to honestly tackle the issues that face the country. They want to be involved in that process, but also be led by decisive leaders.
The Dems fell short, let's see what this new crop of Republicans has to offer.
Oh, and thank God we beat the hell out of O'Donnell last night.
