Barack Obama helped elect 255 Democrats to the House in 2008. This year, he helped elect 240 Republicans to the House.
Now that’s bipartisanship.

several states did so. However, if the law is ruled constitutional, State law in that matter loses out.
By the way, Rugg, did Brewer win as governor in AZ??

cost reported was vastly overstated, the trip was planned months ago, and (as usual) the right-wing
tardosphere tries to make stupid points over a President that is actually working to mend fences with the rest of the world.

Brewer won by a landslide. As for unconstitutional, I don't think so. What's unconstitutional is forcing someone to engage in a contract with a third party. Obamacare is unconstitutional.
Expect to see more "fuck you's" by Arizona in the future. We're fed up with the Fed here.

my comment merely reflected the reality....as to whether the Federal law is declared Constitutional or not, well, that's way over my pay grade.

oh, and to Wullie, further on the 'trip issue' raised. Let's imagine for a moment that the figures bandied about in your article(and since discredited, thoroughly) were real. That means that this trip will add less than 0.7% to the daily average spending of the US government for the duration of the trip. Put another way, each American would pay 85 cents each. Now, the trip includes something like 70 leaders from a variety of American businesses, several pertinent Cabinet level appointees with trade expertise, and the first Family as a further show of respect to the hosts. The purpose of the trip is to open up the Indian domestic market to US businesses. That market has been near-closed partly due to the US interest in Pakistan since 2001, and a careless level of diplomacy for years.
So, summing up: this trip is about CREATING JOBS FOR AMERICANS. Isn't that what the President ought to be focused on? Where is your problem with that? Please, give me some reason NOT to support your elected Chief of State on such a critical mission for the country. Please, show me you have some real, well-thought out problem beyond the fact that Obama just isn't white enough for your tastes. Oh, and where, exactly were your comments when Bush pissed away a few tens of millions to stand in front of a banner declaring, "Mission Accomplished" when it really wasn't?

Oh yes, the president makes a trip, Joe Biden makes a trip....
What it really costs above base idle time
is the real cost.
Most of those involved are on the govenrment payrole anyway.
It costs little more than fuel to make the trip.
Additional cost like replacement parts and normal wear and tear are there.
But those planes are maintained and flown regularly no matter what.
Those ships would not sit still if this trip were not planned.
The real cost is little more than the extra fuel burned.
We pay the people no matter if they travel or not.
The Navy and USAF would be playing war no matter what.
Oh yes, that's a lot of JP-8 and gasoline for the trip.
But no where near a $1,000,000,000 tab.
Yep, I don't like Osama Obama, but this trip is a big nothing.
But it makes for great propaganda!

how? Who is stupid enough to borrow money to manufacture a product without a market? India has a billion consumers. They are critical.
