Ya got a 50-50 chance of whether "Slick" or "Sticky" answers.
I say this from recent experience.

To keep it simple, do you support national gun registration? I think you do. Maybe some clarification is in order.
not completely sure. I can see good and bad coming of it, especially if the records were in the public domain.
Did you support passage of the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act, H.R.45? Would you support an equivalent bill?
would have to read the bill, but don't recall ever supporting it.
Those are my most honest answers. Seriously, I don't see where registration solves a damned thing, or to put it another way, wouldn't create more problems than it would solve.

What problem does registration solve?
How would it solve it?
How would it have prevented the attack on children in Ct.?
How does any of the above?
Solve the problem of theft of guns and their misuse?

I can see the argument around tracking unusual patterns of gun acquisition.
How would it have prevented the attack on children in Ct.?
no, but in Aurora, or VA Tech, maybe.....
How does any of the above?
Solve the problem of theft of guns and their misuse?
it doesn't. The only way to address that more than the current laws do already, is to enforce very stiff penalties for failure to report theft, and failure to properly secure a weapon on your private property. Those I do support. Fully.

Fair answers.
How does, reporting your gun as stolen...prevent the use of it?
How does a person "reasonably" prevent the theft of their gun(s)?
Especially, when they can't "reasonably" prevent the theft of anything
they own.
The only way I know to prevent the theft of your gun?
Have it on you.
Use it, to prevent that theft.
That don't really go over so good with some folks..

it doesn't. It puts the responsibility squarely on the owner to safeguard weapons in their possession. That is the sole purpose.
How does a person "reasonably" prevent the theft of their gun(s)?
Especially, when they can't "reasonably" prevent the theft of anything
gun safes seldom get stolen

Completely wrong.
They get stolen all the time.
They don't weigh enough.
They're not bolted down.
Everybody knows what's in them.
People as a whole...talk to much.
Criminals listen.
Then they take.
What you "cavilerly" propose ain't doable and
it's especially not financially doable for the average person.
You gotta 2 ton gone safe....bolted down?
If you do? Good on you. The rest of us don't.
I possess more than one gun.
Whenever I leave my home, I have at least one gun on me.
In case, I have to confront other folks in my home, upon my return,
who have the rest of my guns. Do you think like that?
You probably don't. You've probably never, ever, considered it, or had to?
It's an ugly world from time to time.
Good on you and yours...if you've been lucky, so far.
I'm just one of those folks....who has never, ever, bet on luck.
Which probably explains my aversion to gambling....at casinos.
Though, I've played a lot of golf and shooting games...and have always,
bet on myself. Cuz, if I lose, it's my fault....no excuse. Nobody else, has to pay.
I'm not the only one who feels/thinks this way.
Proof of that is forthcoming...You'll have to Pay to see the cards.
There will be no fold.
Obama seems to want to put everybody "all in"?
You support that.
What you need to know?
Everybody at the table is "all in" too.
What you need to be most aware of?
It ain't an honest game?
Never has been.
Hope, you're packing....
Ace's and Eights.....ain't gonna win.
They didn't the last time.
Won't this time.

I have at least 10 friends that own handguns, I used to. We all locked them up. Yes, mine went in the same heavy(but not bolted) safe with the shotguns, but others merely locked them in common home safes(wall safes, smaller floor safes) or locked cabinets. Not one of us has ever had a gun stolen. Proof of anything? Of course not, beyond the fact that reasonable caution is all that should be required, and someone who has not put handguns under lock and key when not carried is both a fool, and a reckless fool as well.

Well, I'm glad you're able to excuse yourself...
What about common, everyday people?
