You must be used to the state controlling everything in your life. Frankly, it's none of the government's business who has a high BMI.

CallmeSICK, you have exposed your Communist Socialist side.It is, when the government(read: The Taxpayers) has to pay the incidental costs resulting from it.
No it isn't. Regardless of what you think, there are tons of us out here who don't want to pay for universal health care or have it shoved down our throats. We also don't wanna be taxed on insurance paid for by our employers. I really love that one cuz not only will I as the boss pay for my own insurance but I'll be taxed for it too. Kinda makes you wanna be a small businessman, eh? That's ok, I'll make that up by giving discounts for cash for my customers. Cuz cash doesn't exist therefore it's not taxable. I'm fed up with Barry's promise that we won't be taxed any more. Fuck him and fuck the government. I'm not being represented by my elected officials so I choose to opt out.callmeslick wrote: It is, when the government(read: The Taxpayers) has to pay the incidental costs resulting from it.

Rather than legislating how the individual lives (as is typical of the left) why not put restrictions on places like McDonald's or Burger King? Or junk food makers? Or soda manufacturers? Because their products are the ones being blamed for people being fat. The left even blames them. But you won't see any kind of restrictions being placed on those corporations because the left doesn't care about punishing the culprits. They'd prefer to enforce even more draconian measures on the citizens of this country because ultimately the left hates the people.Daiichidoku wrote:
perhaps spending a bit more now, both in the health sector, and in a program to educate ppl about fatassedness and give them tools to become fitter and healthier..."ounce of prevention"

The government never studies anything w/out doing anything about it. And since Barry has enacted universal health care you can bet that they'll punish those that are overweight. Maybe you're more optimistic about our government but I'm not. They irradiated citizens in Utah, infected blacks with syphillus and didn't treat it (Tuskeegee experiment), killed a bunch of children in Waco and started a war for oil in the middle east. 'Scuze me for not trusting my government but with their track record I have good reason not to.Daiichidoku wrote:.its not legislating how the individual lives, but gives him the knowledge to know what they are doing, this gives them the choice to decide to do something, if anything, about it
Hey Slick, why don't you apply that to illegal aliens....and a plethora of other issues? Would that also be discriminatory? Or would it be following the law, which by the way does not exist in the BMI case?callmeslick wrote:It is, when the government(read: The Taxpayers) has to pay the incidental costs resulting from it.ruggbutt wrote:You must be used to the state controlling everything in your life.
