I started this thread for Ruggie to expound. I'm tired, and this old man is going to listen to some music and chill before bedtime! Ok, Ruggie, run with it.

actually, no argument involved. Ruggie stated that he'd love to discuss how the development of the KJE Bible affected the development of modern Christianity, and that is sort of an interesting subject.Pudfark wrote:Seems like Slick can't win the political argument..now he's starting a religious one....

one in the sameFirst things first, who do we pray to when we pray to our creator or the messiah? God and Jesus?
John 10:30-33 wrote:and the Father are one." 31The Jews took up stones again to stone Him. 32Jesus answered them, "I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?" 33The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God,"
the reference to I AM. there are only 2 places in the bible where that is spoken. first on Mt Sanai with Abraham, and second here by ChristJohn 8:56 wrote:"Your father Abraham rejoiced as he looked forward to my coming. He saw it and was glad." The people said, "You aren't even fifty years old. How can you say you have seen Abraham?" Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I Am!" At that point they picked up stones to throw at him. But Jesus was hidden from them and left the Temple.
John 12: 44-46 wrote:Jesus shouted to the crowds, "If you trust me, you are trusting not only me, but also God who sent me. For when you see me, you are seeing the one who sent me. I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark."
John 14:6 wrote:Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!" Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied." Jesus replied, "Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don't know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you?"
