How much is gas ( per gallon ) in France? Those things are rather fond of it, ESPECIALLY the big blocks.

Of that series, I liked the '68 SS w/396cid engine. A friend of mine had one he bought new in '68. We had that big bitch doing the quarter mile in the low 13's with street tires. Had an Isky cam, Edelbrock intake, Hooker headers, and big assed Holley carb on it as I recall.

One of the fun things we did with that car was put a clip on the center of the dash board. We'd put a 100 dollar bill in that clip. If whoever was sitting in the passenger seat could lean forward enough to reach it before we hit third (the car had a 3 speed with a 2.20 to 1 low gear) gear they could keep it. Nobody ever got that hundred while I was driving it.

Another fun thing we did was to unbolt the headers from the mufflers and then throw the bolts away so the owner had to drive it home with open headers. It was LOUD and the cops hated all of us. When he got nailed by the law, we'd all chip in and pay the $30.00 ticket for loud pipes.

My favorite car of the 60's was a '67 Olds 4-4-2. THAT was a HELL of a machine.
