As long as it's not happening within 200 miles of where he lives it's not happening.

If the idiots in charge would LEGALIZE IT there wouldn't be cartels and wars.
People will always want to smoke and snort and find ways to do so, time to stop the bullshit and just allow them to.
Prohibition didn't work, this clearly doesn't either.

not sure about narcotics, but pot? absolutely.
studies suggest about 60% of cartels drug trade is pot........guess what, take 60% of ANY businesses income away and they are simply not competitive.
or make tobacco illegal, wtf

I agree, completely. Hell, approaching narcotics as a treatable medical problem and getting folks away from illegal dealers(sort of the British approach) might not even be a bad idea. If the US provides the fuel for this sort of stuff, in terms of demand, we bear some responsibility.
Oh, and to the original post.......when, and please find the quotes, have I ever done anything but decry the drug cartels. I have simply maintained that it is a crime problem, not an immigration issue, and thus demands a different approach.

Walls on the border and a shoot to kill order would stop most of that stuff.

Federal narcotics acts have done nothing but
to add a profit margin for smuggelers.
Make all drugs legal, add a tax to cover the
health and rehab costs. The drug cartels would vanish
overnight.

That's been the logic and the driving force behind it since the prohibition of alcohol.

Exactly Wullie. Legalizing the problem, won't make it go away....A problem is still a problem. When you look at the taxes applied to cigarettes? What do you think they will be for pot? I don't particularly have a problem with folks who, after a day's work, want to burn a couple or have a few beers.... If folks want to legalize pot, fine. However, it won't make any problems go away....and more than likely, create more.
