...but, this is the current leader in the Assateague Rockfish tourney. Now, to go warm my extremities.
(slick accounted for two fish that might have added up to the weight of this one....nice weather, but
a bit chilly out there. After a change of clothes, I'm going to pour about a gallon of Crab Soup into myself
and recover before heading back up North tomorrow).

still, there's some difference between cold and dry, and cold, with salt spray beating on you for a few hours.

those are not ugly....they are fighting sobs in the surf. First prize is $500 or so, the tourney has no entry fee so it's whatever Tsunami Lures puts up for prizes. Cool get-together to start Thanksgiving week.

I'm no whiz at this stuff, but I am getting better. Ten years back, I wouldn't have come close to landing one, unless sheer blind luck was involved. It's a game of putting bait or lures into the right zone of a slick of fish debris and feeding gulls. And, the slick keeps moving on you......Fun stuff!

well, heck, we have big trout in PA. The surf thing is just a different sort of experience. Both are fun.
This rockfish stuff comes with readily available steamed shrimp, crabcakes and lots of hot crab soup!
The closest you get to seafood is Rocky Mountain Oysters......
