you're asking me?
In case it was you who was not aware of who the man was, a synopsis.

Mr. Van Vliet was a painter and musician. His paintings were sold in a couple New York galleries, and he
performed music under the name Captain Beefheart. The music was eclectic, with some blues influence and the lyrics were positively bizarre(as one can see from my sig). Most who are fans accept the music as an expression of certain post-modern art world tendencies. A google search will yield far, far more. Dude had been sick for a few years, and lived in the Southwest for at least a decade or more.

A really witty fellow not...."Old Pudfark" could kick his hiney any day....

Though, this one made me laugh and think of Slick.....

Beefheart did some pretty cool stuff with Zappa. (Zappa actually gave him the name)
