I'm barely trucking atm, had a motorcycle crash (not my fault) just before the snow came and my right leg is still messed up.
Did some small jobs that didn't involve heavy lifting/pushing/pulling and had some fun on the slippery roads with all the crashing idiots around me.
The snow/ice just makes things take a lot more time, if you accept that all is well. (more hours is more $)
It´s no longer freezing anyway.
I'm afraid I don´t get the `white towel´ thing. (I´m not French if that´s what you mean...)

Bike crash hope it wasnt to bad and your leg gets better i ahve seen some seriously messed up bike vids on the net that have put me off riding on the road
And dude with a work ethic like that you could almost be an Aussie i like that, and do most trucking companies pay by the hour there? I know quite a few here especially intersate ones that pay point to point, so say Adelaide to Melbourne so they will pay you for 800 odd kilometers and thats it never mind the driver might have say 8 drop offs at the destination that can add on quite a few more km's and half a day or more for no extra.
And pull into a truckstop and have a white towel hanging out of your passenger window is guarenteed to bring you a lot lizard

Most over the road drivers get paid by the mile. I say most, but not all.

Thanks for the kind words regarding my accident and work ethic.
The accident didn't scare me enough to not ride, I can't wait 'till my bike has a new front end!
I've never met a European trucker getting paid by distance travelled, time is what matters over here.
The few lot lizards I see I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole...
